This post will be edited for every game we play, explaining the rules and the prompts.
Tonight's theme song is: Secret Agent Man
1. TUG OF WAR
Each team races to 2000 points. The sprint begins and everyone writes as fast as possible. Every time one reaches 200 words they IM a designated mod with '200' and then keeps writing. If they get an additional 200 they IM the mod again. This goes on until one room reaches 2000 points. At that point, time is called, and everyone can share in the room their completed word count for the sprint.
2. Jackpot Sprint
Before the sprint begins select eight people to write for your room. If you have less than eight, some may have to "write twice" . Assign each person a number 1-8, making sure if someone does have to go twice, their numbers are not consecutive. On go, everyone writes. The person who was assigned #1 writes until they reach 300 words. At that point, they IM a designated mod, and then return to writing. The mod then IMs #2 who then writes 275 additional words to what they already had during the sprint. When they reach the 'additional' 275 they IM the mod who IMs person #3. Person number 3 then writes 200 additional words from where they were at and then IMs the mod and so on.
#4 writes 175
#5 writes 150
#6 writes 100
#7 writes 75
#8 writes 50
Once #8 writes their additional 50 words, #8 THEN CALLS time in the room. The first room to have called time, wins.
Here's an example:
The mod tells you to go!
Everyone starts writing away. When person #2 gets gets IMed, they have already written 112 words according to their word count, since the sprint began. Because they're #2 are are assigned 275, they immediately write an additional 275, bringing their total word count to 387 before IMing the mod.
This sprint brings together the joy of math and English. Woo!
