I'm a Virgin

I'm introducing myself as so many others have. I've never written anything, ever. Except, well, I do write in my blog. I saw [personal profile] aisling did it last year and I was intrigued.

This is a HUGE and scarey undertaking. My husband thinks I'm crazy. I think I'm crazy. I don't know the first thing about writing.

Even I think you're crazy!

I think it's a prerequisite for taking on this idea. Don't worry - we're all insane! Yay!

Hmm. I think I'll go now...

The longest thing I'd ever written before wrimo last year was a set of fan fics over the course of a year that came out to about 10,000 words.

Somehow, I managed to write 50,000 words, and they're not too shabby, even though I'm still editing it. It is possible, if you manage your time right.

The longest I've ever written before this was a 6-chapter fan fic of about 35,000 words and that took me two months. So yeah, I'm pretty insane to be attemting this. And no, I don't have much time to do this. I work full-time and have a daughter in 3rd grade. I really AM insane :))

Insane? Yes. Yes you are insane.

But I think you'll adapt :) I did it for the first time last year and fell just short of 15000 words. But you'll definitely find your way.

The best thing you can do now is just give yourself some downtime to think up of short stories in your head that you could relate to each other and make into a novel. these = plot bunnies :)
