My plot seems fine but it feels rushed, especially towards the end. Basically, the MC is a seamstress working a dead end job, when agents of a foreign court recruit her to work as the Empress' personal tailor (long story that will have to wait for another novel). At the end of her journey, she gets to Court with only a week to work on the dress. This whole time someone's been trying to slow her down and thwart her attempts at gathering the materials, up to and including murdering the people commissioned to make and provide the materials.
My big worry is that a week isn't enough time for her to plausibly figure out who is plotting against her at court. I was hoping that she can see through them while they stall her further at court. Is it plausible or do I have to fudge time even more?
