Weekly Plot Help - Week of November 3rd

Got a problem in your NaNo? Who doesn't?! But we've got a way to help!

Post here with your plot problems, and all through the week members of the community will scan through and see if they can help.

AKA - The best way to procrastinate is to help others!

So post your problem. Then take a moment to look at everyone else's and see if you can help them.

People helping people. That's what makes this community great :)

So have at it!

I need help. My novel is giving me lots of ideas, but it has no semblance of a plot.

I have two MCs, cousins Natalie and Meridian. Natalie is five years younger than her cousin, who moves into Natalie's house when Meridian is sixteen. A lot happens to them over the course of growing up. Natalie has an accident resulting in a lower-leg amputation; Meridian's on-again-off-again boyfriend dies in Iraq. I want to show them growing up, but as of now my story is terribly episodic. I know I can write it in this way, but lack of a tie together leaves me unmotivated.

Any ideas

This is more of a technical question, than a plot problem...

My story is set in 1952. Since there's no email at this time - obviously! :) - my MC will receive an important message via telegram. Since I've never sent a telegram, and all I know of them is what I've seen in movies...does this sound fairly passable for a telegram?

Since I'm well ahead of the needed word count...and have been horribly procrastinating all day...I feel I can take the time to seek an answer for this.

Does the term stigmata only refer to the event of someone mirroring the wounds of Christ? If an individual manifested the wounds of some other martyred saint, would that also be called stigmata or is there some other term for it?

Being that it is a fantasy world, I could create a seperate word for it in the language of the MC's race...but I'm not sure yet if I should or not.
