Hey all! I'm a first time NaNoWriMo-er, and an almost 28 year old stay at home mom to a 2 year old. I found this community with the LJ Spotlight :) I'm really looking forward to the help/encouragement in a forum less intimidating than the main NaNo site.
My novel is about a marine biologist who during a routine research trip stumbles on gun smugglers. She is rescued from her burning research station by a group of Navy SEALs. Striking up a friendship with one of them, she gets caught in the middle of the battle between the gun smuggling ring and the SEAL team which might cost her life.
It currently sits at just over 17k, almost 4k of which I wrote today to force myself back into the swing of things.
I have decided not to post novel excerpts until after NaNo as I am sure once I start getting advice I will want to edit and November is not the time for editing! If anyone wants to read excerpts I'll be posting them in December at oshnstories so feel free to friend my writing journal! Also I'm SCUBAJfer on the main NaNo forum if anyone wants another writing buddy!
