18,349. I tend to stick to the required daily quota.

19K something. I'm pleased with it!

16K and change -- got a lot of work to do if I'm going to have 20K by the end of tomorrow!

I broke 15,000 last night! I'm sitting at 15,050, specifically, and I'm hoping my lunch break will get me caught up to today so I can be back on track when I get home after work.

[identity profile] tael87.livejournal.com 2008-11-11 01:45 pm (UTC)(link)

(http://www.languageisavirus.com/nanowrimo/word-meter.html)24026 / 50000 words. 48% done!

I'm pretty sure I'll break the halfway point by the end of today. w00t. :D

[identity profile] pirho-maniac.livejournal.com 2008-11-11 01:56 pm (UTC)(link)
14,430/50,000

I somehow managed exactly 4000 words yesterday. o.o

[identity profile] rona-dolvi.livejournal.com 2008-11-11 02:15 pm (UTC)(link)
I sit at 16K, and this is after losing 4k due to a power outage. Now I autosave every minute.

it's always something, isn't it?

HELP! I went on a camping trip this weekend, and even brought my laptop and an extension cord so I could NaNo from the distant power of a cabin. I did get some great writing done, but couldn't write on Saturday. (Am I REALLY the only one who can cook edible food over a campfire? Come ON people!) Then my catch up day on Sunday was taken up with breaking camp and coming home. I was all set to sit in ratty clothes and write ALL DAY, but yesterday my bank screwed up the paperwork on my stolen credit card info, and I spent all day wrestling with them and feeling sick / awful.

Today is my day to catch up, I swear! I have from 8am to 6pm to write 5835 words or more. Since I average 500 wrds per 20-min writing sprint, I'd like to do as MANY writing sprints as possible to catch up, preferably eleven or so. At least I have a hella good plot outline...

Re: it's always something, isn't it?

[identity profile] my-cream-tea.livejournal.com 2008-11-11 02:56 pm (UTC)(link)
Don't worry, I'm pretty much where you are.

[identity profile] cerrenes.livejournal.com 2008-11-11 02:37 pm (UTC)(link)

(http://www.languageisavirus.com/nanowrimo/word-meter.html)17284 / 50000 words. 35% done!

I fell a bit behind and didn't write for a few days due to real life. :/ Now I'm catching up and trying to get ahead again.

[identity profile] m-barnette.livejournal.com 2008-11-11 03:57 pm (UTC)(link)

But I'm starting to wonder if this book is going to actually hit 80k because the plot is winding up quicker than I thought it would.

[identity profile] number-thirty.livejournal.com 2008-11-11 04:01 pm (UTC)(link)
3k so far, but bear in mind I only started yesterday. :D

[identity profile] oh--tsarevich.livejournal.com 2008-11-11 04:06 pm (UTC)(link)
Man, you are brave to start so late and still give it a good shot! Good luck catching up, if you keep up at this pace you'll get there no problem at all :D

[identity profile] number-thirty.livejournal.com 2008-11-11 05:40 pm (UTC)(link)
Ta very muchly, I reached 5k by today. I seem to be writing upwards for 2k a day here, should I be slowing down?

[identity profile] grimmerlove.livejournal.com 2008-11-11 05:41 pm (UTC)(link)
Don't you dare. XD Pace yourself, but make sure you catch up. Then, getting 1667 a day will be cake.

[identity profile] oh--tsarevich.livejournal.com 2008-11-11 05:46 pm (UTC)(link)
No! Never slow down! Anything beyond 50,000 words by the end of November is great, anything less than 50,000 isn't so desirable ;)

Plus, I've heard that the second week of writing is the most difficult one to get through and many people get discouraged, so it's best to have a word buffer just in case that happens to you by your second week as well. It hasn't happened to me (yet? I started a bit late as well, haha,) but it's a very common phenomenon so I'd make sure to keep writing while it's easy!

[identity profile] number-thirty.livejournal.com 2008-11-11 06:01 pm (UTC)(link)
You forget...this is actually my first week of writing ;)

[identity profile] oh--tsarevich.livejournal.com 2008-11-11 06:03 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, exactly! That's what I mean :) keep writing now, because now it's still easy - week two might hit you hard!

NaNo - Day 10

[identity profile] writersprite.livejournal.com 2008-11-11 04:10 pm (UTC)(link)
As of Day 10 I'm 22k words in. Wrote 1951 of my 2k daily word goal. :)

[identity profile] caitak.livejournal.com 2008-11-11 04:42 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm at 45,620 and I was totally set to finish today, but then my Dad brought down the Livebox power cable so I got internet back in the shop. Then my fiance came in and we ended up watching iPlayer for an hour.

Think I should hit 50k tomorrow, at least that's what I'm aiming for, I managed over 5,000 today. But according to my note cards I'm only a little over half way through the story. My MC still has to get engaged, lose her fiance in a car accident, meet his parents, find out she's pregnant, have the baby, meet the serial killer again and wrap up the story by finally ending up with her boss (which she'll be happy about since they've been trying to get into bed together since somewhere around the 20,000 word mark)

*sigh*

[identity profile] grimmerlove.livejournal.com 2008-11-11 05:42 pm (UTC)(link)
That sounds like a damn fun story.

[identity profile] hireadd.livejournal.com 2008-11-11 06:35 pm (UTC)(link)
Heh, your characters too? Mine kept trying to get in bed together for a while, and now that I'm considering letting them I can't figure out how to make that happen before one of them dies, and that's... sad. XD

Seconding that your story sounds really fun.

[identity profile] inkspotsbyisil.livejournal.com 2008-11-11 05:30 pm (UTC)(link)

(http://www.languageisavirus.com/nanowrimo/word-meter.html)30013 / 50000 words. 60% done!

i thought setting my weekend goal for 30 or 35k would be modest. but i hit 30k last night, at work, and so i guess i'll set it for 40 or 45k. i'll not say 50k. i want to finish, put the words "THE END" on it, and *then* call 50k... or however much I got. ;-)

[identity profile] mteson.livejournal.com 2008-11-11 05:35 pm (UTC)(link)

(http://www.languageisavirus.com/nanowrimo/word-meter.html)22519 / 50000 words. 45% done!

I'm gonna try and hit 25k tonight.

[identity profile] grimmerlove.livejournal.com 2008-11-11 05:40 pm (UTC)(link)
17171. I've dedicated myself to palindromes this year.

[identity profile] princessstarr.livejournal.com 2008-11-11 05:43 pm (UTC)(link)

Here's to me hitting 30K hopefully soon

[identity profile] oh--tsarevich.livejournal.com 2008-11-11 05:49 pm (UTC)(link)
11.154, though I'm still writing so my final word count will hopefully be at least 1k/2k higher than this. I need to catch up damn it! Though I have to say that having my poor dyslexic-and-bad-with-words MC be forced to keep a diary, with all the crossings-out and rephrasings you would expect from someone like that, was a stroke of moderate genius :P and it's even relevant to the plot!

[identity profile] oh--tsarevich.livejournal.com 2008-11-11 05:50 pm (UTC)(link)
Er, my final word count for the day obviously! 13000 words overall is a pretty miserable thing to aim for, haha.

[identity profile] vegasonacid24-7.livejournal.com 2008-11-11 06:15 pm (UTC)(link)
I am at 15,575 and it's getting harder every milestone because I keep letting myself get distracted.
Then I realized that my story would probably end sooner than 50,000 so I might have to write a sequel that I wasn't planning at all...

[identity profile] hireadd.livejournal.com 2008-11-11 06:35 pm (UTC)(link)
27406 as of the beginning of today.

[identity profile] whiterabbit08.livejournal.com 2008-11-11 07:49 pm (UTC)(link)
10012...... Those two zeroes greatly displease me.

[identity profile] stagemanager.livejournal.com 2008-11-11 09:49 pm (UTC)(link)
But it's a WONDERFUL zip code!

[identity profile] jane-mundane.livejournal.com 2008-11-11 08:33 pm (UTC)(link)
Started the day at 14,094 am currently at 15,302 and hope to be at 17,000 by the end of the night so that I'm a little less than a day behind tomorrow.

[identity profile] zxora.livejournal.com 2008-11-11 09:31 pm (UTC)(link)

Near the daily goal. I'm taking a break right now, and then I'll be back at it later tonight after band. Whoo...:-P.

Edit: I guess I can't delete them, but I'll discontinue the links. Sorry, again!

200 words.

That's not a typo.

Yeah.

I totally lack self-discipline.

[identity profile] thegirlisfrail.livejournal.com 2008-11-12 01:42 am (UTC)(link)
You're not the only one lacking self-discipline.

Currently "stuck" at 1108.

Sigh. 11,803 to date. It would be so much easier if I didn't have a three-hour commute every freaking day. No bus, and it's hard to write while driving. But I'll make 50K by the 30th.

I chugged out 6k yesterday! I'm so proud :') but it's another day today and I need to start because I have 0 word and it's already 2pm :p
