I'd like to thank the Academy...

I came sliding in today at 50,848 words today, thus completing my goal for a seven-for-seven record.

I haven't decided on a suitable reward for this yet, although the real reward shouldn't come until the book is finished. This may not be for awhile.

So for everyone else: Do you plan on rewarding yourself for finishing NaNo? How so?

I'm saving $5 for every day I meet word count (I missed yesterday!!) and spending it on a Spa Day somewhere in the beginning of Dec! Plus once I hit 50k I'm buying the new Gregory Maguire books!

Congratulations! *high five*
I think I'll buy myself a shirt if - er, when - I win.

- Flavour (15,308)

I will finally open my copy of Animal Crossing: City Folk that I'm keeping boxed up until I finish.

And possibly a barbecue.

I think my reward shall be a paltry self-congratulatory pat on the back. And perhaps some chocolate.

A new case of Mountain Dew and shopping on Black Friday, woo.

Oh! And congratulations on hitting 50K!!! That's awesome!

ooo I hadn't thought of rewarding myself! I'll have to think on that. I have nearly 25,000 written now. At least I'm on target. Congrats on getting to 50,000!

[identity profile] pet-lunatic.livejournal.com 2008-11-15 01:18 am (UTC)(link)
Congratulations!

Finishing NaNo won't be the end of my book, either, but since I'm having such an incredibly busy November this year it'll be a miracle if I get to 50,000, so I'll treat myself to something. Probably dinner out with my SO so I can bore him about my novel, lol.

[identity profile] tsukikei.livejournal.com 2008-11-15 01:18 am (UTC)(link)
Congrats! :D

I'm going to congrate myself by sleeping, then allowing myself to edit. I've been waiting for that for SUCH a long time now. XD

Congratulations! :)

I promised myself my first tattoo in December if I manage to hit the 50K. I'm at 38K now so I guess I'm getting inked next month :)

I don't have a reward for crossing the finish line yet, but I do reward myself for beating single-day word goals. This year I give myself a silver star for 2500 words and a gold star for 5000 words. I keep my word count in my novel journal and stick those little shiny star stickers next to the appropriate day. Gold stars will likely be pressies like writing implements or art supplies of much happiness. Dunno what I'll do with the silvers yet. :)

Congrats!

I let myself start a new novel or get into a short story phase. Seems a bit masochistic to many people, I guess, but it suits me just fine!

Plus all my friends sort of attack me with hugs. That generally makes me feel pretty rewarded!

[identity profile] bluesunsets.livejournal.com 2008-11-15 03:19 am (UTC)(link)
Congrats!

My reward is to let myself write out the ideas that don't belong in my Nano afterwards. Not much fun, but I'm thinking that just by taking this challenge seriously and completing it is enough of a reward for me right now.

*wry* The reward for work well done is more work. If I can get my novel (75k, as it projects now) done by Thanksgiving I will pitch it to an editor I may be having dinner with.

I'm going to let myself join a new drabble community that recently invited me.

Yes, more writing...but drabbles are entirely different beasts.

And I'm not opening that room of prompts until this beast is done!

37,505 now!

Finishing NaNo is its own reward for me.

[identity profile] eyeslikeplanets.livejournal.com 2008-11-15 04:38 am (UTC)(link)
I'm going to buy myself something completely unnecessary but fun. I'm 21 years old and I still love toys, especially the little electronic doodads. I try to save all my money and I don't often buy something frivolous for myself. I shall get some sort of immature yet fun thingummy if *cough when cough* I get to 50K. 21,967 so far!

[identity profile] summer-rose.livejournal.com 2008-11-15 05:32 am (UTC)(link)
Congrats! I've already rewarded myself (finished yesterday) by buying four books. These are all books that will help my story, though. Research and all that.

[identity profile] zxora.livejournal.com 2008-11-15 05:51 am (UTC)(link)
You know, I was thinking today...if I can do it four years in a row, I'll buy myself a permanent account here on LiveJournal. Year one's goal is over halfway made...:-D.

And congrats on reaching the 50k goal!

Well done on 50k!

I'm planning to get a couple of new piercings if.when I hit my own 50,000. I've always tended to get new body mods (subtle ones, including hide-able tattoos) for new jobs and other Big Stuff, and I've fancied some new holes for a while, so hopefully at the end of this month I'll have an excuse. :D
