Hi, I'm Kay.

This is my third NaNo. The past two years I've tried and failed. The first year I barely touched 5,000 words (my current total right now) and the second year I made it past 35,000 before Dec 1 came calling.

This year I'm hoping to win, even if the story makes little to no sense. My hope is that by staying in the genre of 'drama' (I'm normally a sci-fi or thriller type of gal) and repeating the phrase 'write what you know' (I love research, but unless it's critical to a plot point, it's distracting during a first draft) like a mantra, I'll be able to achieve that goal.

Already, my inner editor is crying and wailing, while my muse is offering up absurd suggesting like the kidnapping of my protagonist, or the possible involvement of her love interest in a government conspiracy.

This possibly (read: probably) won't end well.

But the joy is in the journey, right?
