Ok, I'm finally getting around to posting an introduction.
I'm Laura, this is my third NaNo.
It's November 4th and I haven't written a word. Not a single solitary word.
Eek?

I'm 25, from South Wales (UK) and I currently have no job to get in the way of my writing. Why, then, am I so behind? No plot. I had one in October, I was super-excited about it, but it died on me before I could put pen to paper fingers to keyboard.
Inspiration has been lacking this year.
However, I'm about to stray into NaNo rebel territory for the first time and write short stories. 50,000 words of short stories. Hooray!

All I need to do now is resist the urge to go make pumpkin pie and just write.

Hi, I'm Kay.

This is my third NaNo. The past two years I've tried and failed. The first year I barely touched 5,000 words (my current total right now) and the second year I made it past 35,000 before Dec 1 came calling.

This year I'm hoping to win, even if the story makes little to no sense. My hope is that by staying in the genre of 'drama' (I'm normally a sci-fi or thriller type of gal) and repeating the phrase 'write what you know' (I love research, but unless it's critical to a plot point, it's distracting during a first draft) like a mantra, I'll be able to achieve that goal.

Already, my inner editor is crying and wailing, while my muse is offering up absurd suggesting like the kidnapping of my protagonist, or the possible involvement of her love interest in a government conspiracy.

This possibly (read: probably) won't end well.

But the joy is in the journey, right?
