enquiring minds want to know.

1. What time of day do you do your best writing? Early in the morning, before everyone else gets up, or after midnight with a pot of coffee beside you? Sometime in the middle of the day? For hours at a time or with the few minutes you can grab here and there?

2. Where do you write? In the park? In a coffee shop? All alone in the basement? In the ball pit at playland? On a boat? (Or do you write at work, when you think no one can see what you're doing, simply thinking that at least you're not on IM like you are 11 months out of 12? For shame, for shame.) (Of course I do not know anything about this from personal experience.)

3. What's your favorite brain food?

4. How do you plan to celebrate reaching 50K?

i write when ever i can.
i write wherever i can but i work best if my kid isn't jumping on me.
i dont really tend to eat while writing.. at least i'm not thinking of anything particular.
i'm going to sleep.

1. Mornings are best, but late night works. Anytime the house is quiet!
2. In my computer room. Don't have a laptop and hate them anyway.
3. M&M-powered.
4. I was thinking a mundane dinner out with the DH (as a treat to him too since he's volunteered to cook this month!), however that tattoo idea is interesting.

I write best at work and that's terrible to say but it's when there are fewest distractions ;-)

Conversely, I'm best at 4.20 in the morning.

This weekend I've been at home in the lounge and at the dining room table. This week it'll be at work and in cafes on the Asus Eee Hubby bought me for my birthday for this very reason.

Brain food - twiglets today :-)

I usually celebrate with a bottle of champagne and phone calls to all the people I haven't spoken to in the month of November.

1. I do my best writing at night but it's hard to stay up now that I have kids. The sprints really help me because I can do 10 minutes here and there to get my word count.

2. I write on my laptop in my living room but I also like to go to coffee shops when I can.

3. Tea and chocolate! A good cup of tea and some chocolate cookies really help me keep my energy up and my fingers typing!

4. I'll celebrate by taking some time off for a few weeks and then dive into editing and polishing the novel.

1. mainly between midnight to 4 am, when everybody else in the house is sleeping. then bits and pieces everywhere

2. everywhere I can open my laptop, but mostly at home.

3. none. I stick to 3 meals per day, otherwise, I'll get as heavy as the wordcount.

4. dunno yet... perhaps sleeping and making new clothes for my doll ^ ^

[identity profile] playla.livejournal.com 2008-11-02 10:42 pm (UTC)(link)
1. First thing in the morning before I do anything else.

2. At my desk in the basement (where my home office is).

3. Fruits and veggies.

4. Posting a winners badge on my blog, Facebook, LiveJournal, etc. -- 50,000 words in 30 days deserves some bragging.

1. What time of day do you do your best writing? I find myself more productive at night, but with my current schedule it's going to have to be whenever.

2. Where do you write? Anywhere, but usually in my room. I'm bringing my journal to work for three solid hours of writing before any of the managers come in.

3. What's your favorite brain food? Anything finger food. Something that won't distract me too much from what I'm doing.

4. How do you plan to celebrate reaching 50K? A beer, a good meal, and sleep.

1. What time of day do you do your best writing?
I'm a morning person. It's the only time I get anything done!

2. Where do you write?
In my dorm, usually, or in the library. I like the quiet.

3. What's your favorite brain food?
Bananas. Yumm. Not good for the keyboard, though.

4. How do you plan to celebrate reaching 50K?
Baking up a storm. :D

Hours at a time. The time varies. Usually after a long day at work, or a couple hours at the gym. Ever seen The First Wives Club? Yeah, best ideas come when I'm working out. I'd rather think about the plot of a story than how many more crunches/minutes I have to go.

2. Where do you write? In the park? In a coffee shop? All alone in the basement? In the ball pit at playland? On a boat? Usually at home, with the new kitty at my side, and some background noise, whether it be music of the television.

3. What's your favorite brain food?
Really bad for my keyboard, but sunflower seeds. Hand sanitizer, is a must to keep the keys clean.

4. How do you plan to celebrate reaching 50K?
Letter my inner editor have at it, and get some sleep!

1. What time of day do you do your best writing?
--After about 8 pm, from 8 to 10. if I have the next day off, I will happily write until 2 am.

2. Where do you write?
--In my bedroom on the laptop. I can lay on the bed and just tak away. I also take the lappy to work and write on lunch. I could write between calls but someone a few years fucked it up for everyone and so we can only have personal laptops

3. What's your favorite brain food?
--Whatever is small and munchy.

4. How do you plan to celebrate reaching 50K?
--I am thinking of an AG order.

1) My best time is probably the evening. I can't actually work on anything uni-wise in the evening but for some reason I can work on my novel. So it's normally evening for as long as I can keep my eyes open. :P

2) At home or in the university library, although I might try out the uni library cafe this time around. They o nice blueberry muffins.

3) I don't have one

4) A nice vodka and coke and then sleep

[identity profile] nebulosity.livejournal.com 2008-11-02 11:40 pm (UTC)(link)
1. Morning.

2. Anywhere alone.

3. Full Throttle (despite that it's not a food).

4. I'm not sure yet. Finals come up within a couple weeks after NaNo, so I'll probably be trying to catch up with school work. :\

[identity profile] aetheric.livejournal.com 2008-11-03 12:11 am (UTC)(link)
1. I do my best writing right after I eat breakfast, with a cup of coffee or tea in hand. I write anytime I can get myself focused enough to churn out a couple thousand words, but yes. Morning time is my favorite.

2. Most often, I write in the downstairs living area where my desk is. My dog sleeps next to me while I write and I light incense. It's fabulous. :) Other times, I write in coffee shops or restaurants like Panera.

3. Ooh, good question. Chocolate, I guess. But the good kind-- 80% cocoa!

4. Getting one of the tattoos that one of my characters has.

1. What time of day do you do your best writing?

Well, I don't have a particular time per se, although I do like writing in the evenings, when it's dark.

2. Where do you write?

Wherever I get inspired. I force stuff out when I'm sitting in front of my desktop (sadly, I don't have a laptop) and when I get inspired in class, I just start writing there.

3. What's your favorite brain food?

I think my brain likes to eat itself. No, but I have to say caffeine in the form of tea. Earl Grey or regular black tea. The other stuff doesn't have enough caffeine in it.

4. How do you plan to celebrate reaching 50k?

By taking a long nap and then starting on my final papers. >_>

[identity profile] the-bonster.livejournal.com 2008-11-03 12:48 am (UTC)(link)
1) Early morning. But I also write for an hour just after my kiddos go to bed.

2) At my computer desk just out side the kitchen.

3) Halloween Candy!!!! (Don't tell my kids)

4) By finally allowing myself to believe that I can do the things I imagine. Also, victory sex!

[identity profile] jediknightmuse.livejournal.com 2008-11-03 01:39 am (UTC)(link)
1. Night, which isn't the most convenient thing in the world. >.>

2. My room, mainly.

3. Candy.

4. Jumping up and down with joy because it'll be my third time participating in NaNo and my first win.

[identity profile] inugrlrayn.livejournal.com 2008-11-03 02:54 am (UTC)(link)
1. What time of day do you do your best writing? It kind of varies, though usually it's the evening for me. I just keep a notebook on me at all times if I'm not at my laptop. That way I can jot down interesting lines.

2. Where do you write? Usually I write at home on my couch, covered in cats and a dog and a baby. XD I go to Panera Bread and have some coffee if I need a change of venue.

3. What's your favorite brain food? I apparently decided to write and diet simultaneously, so lately it's been diet soda, coffee, and pepperoni with cheese slices.

4. How do you plan to celebrate reaching 50K? You know, I hadn't really thought about it. I'll probably just annoy my friends by spazzing about it for a few days, and then make a big post to my flist with the story.

[identity profile] irishkitten441.livejournal.com 2008-11-03 03:25 am (UTC)(link)
1. I generally do my best writing when I'm doing sprints and word wars, since my inner editor is shut off and I force out ideas I never would have if I was just trudging along without a time limit.

2. I write in my bedroom the majority of the time, but I always try to get a few hundred in when I'm at school and work to make things easier.

3. Anything that I can grab and munch on while I'm typing and not worry about needing a utensil or making a mess on the keyboard!

4. I'm up for any sort of celebration that will give my wrists a rest!

[identity profile] bluesunsets.livejournal.com 2008-11-03 07:29 am (UTC)(link)
1. What time of day do you do your best writing?
I find it best to write from sometime around midday to around 5-6pm. Sometimes at night I can write, but I find that I'm too alert and self-conscious about my surroundings, and I'm generally tired. But as I'm in school, weekdays, if I'm lucky, from 4-6pm. Weekends, I tend to go into the AIM chats and even if I don't participate in the chat, I feel this sense of being comfortable to write and become engrossed in my story.

2. Where do you write?
In the house, specifically at this computer because I can hear people approaching, have more privacy, and I just feel a hell of a lot more comfortable.

3. What's your favorite brain food?
Anything small enough and tidy enough to eat while at the computer. Lately it's been Magnum ice-creams - or pizza and cereal.

4. How do you plan to celebrate reaching 50K?
By telling my best friend I have a story for her.

[identity profile] slash-dotdash.livejournal.com 2008-11-03 03:58 pm (UTC)(link)
1. Late night.

2. Desk. :D

3. Gummy bears.

4. I'll let my inner editor go WILD!

:D

1) I can write anytime I want, but I'm definitely a night person--I'm at my peak around 8 p.m to midnight. I have no idea why, and I'm often very sleepy, but I just write best at that time. =) Methinks something is wrong with my body clock.

2) Preferrably somewhere quiet with a comfy chair. And with either awesome music, or no music at all. (Yes, I'm *that* finicky. =P)

3) Apples! Since I seem to be doing okay lately, I suppose they have magical qualities. =D

4) Bragging, possibly. XD After getting enough sleep, definitely.
