Yes, but only because I allow myself a treat for every 100 words I write.

I constantly see my word count as I type, thanks to Q10. It doesn't really distract me too much when I don't have to do anything special because it's just THERE at the bottom of the screen.

Even worse for me is that Word 2007 gives you a constant word count in the lower left of the screen. I look every word or two when the words aren't flowing well.
