Originally when I made it as a short comic back in my early high school days they were deer. Doing Nano though in a novel format, I realized "Hmm. Deer are taken." Thus, my mass amounts of research had me conclude with elk -and I'm quite pleased how I worked in their daily life habits and how their elk lifestyle paralleled with human attributes. Even had some of those antler fighting scenes (or whatever they're called when the males/bulls fight) *evil laugh*
