National Novel Writer's Month

Today is our last discussion pre-NaNo. I do hope you've enjoyed these as much as I have.

My question/starting conversation today is simple: What have you learned during your nano prep period? It could be about your novel, the writing process, yourself... possibilities are endless.

Give one sentence of advice for someone else in this community.

How do you combat NaNoWriMo hate? For example, authors like a certain semi-popular wolf novelist who spew hatred every November towards NaNo? How do you deal? What do you say to the naysayers?

In the comments below, write a letter to your NanoWrimo Day 17th self. Encourage yourself to keep going and not give up. Give yourself the right words to say. Motivate them and don't let them give up. Talk about your enthusiasm for your project right now. Tell yourself how much you want to finish this story. Don't give yourself excuses.
