I did a lot of writing at work today on paper, and oh joy happy me I'm not that far away. It scares me to think about it but I had written over 10,000 words on notebook paper between today and yesterday, and I just finished typing it all out on my computer. I could have sworn I didn't do this much but... I'm finally caught up! Only two thousand words left! (Problem of course being that the story is now ended with an epilogue, but I'll edit and add words through previous sections until I make quota.) I can so handle that without going insane tomarrow!!!

My first NaNoWriMo. An excellent experience and a tremendous motivator. My manuscript WILL be finished on time!

nanorimo

My husband noted that "nanorimo" sounds like Spanish for "very small poem."

So, in honor of my burgeoning word count, here is a nanorimo for you all:

I like to write.
My writing bites.
Now I will turn out the light.
Goodnight!

there's no way that I'm going to make nanowrimo requirements, but I guess I shouldn't be too discouraged. Working four jobs and going to school part time, and this only being my first year, I should not have expected to finish. This is where I am currently:

On a good note though, I think I've started what could end up being a great novel. So, no matter what, I'm determined to finish it. Here is the passage I just finished. I really like the way it sounds. Let me know what you think:

I only have about 9000 words left to go (pretty impressive considering I was very behind up until recently) but now I have the problem of not knowing what to call my novel. You can find and read it at [livejournal.com profile] greenwritings if you like, but if you have any suggestions for a name please let me know!

I'm going to take a break. I'm not even going to acknowledge my computer for a while. It is now dead to me and my blistered fingertips... at least for a few days anyway!

Well, I finally made it! Just validated, and talk about a weight being lifted. It feels so good to have made it, especially after not even hitting 20k last year.... Congrats to all the others with your purple bars! And to those still trying, remember you have until Tuesday, so you'll make it!

I have completed and posted chapter 9 (of 10) of "Suffer the Children" ([livejournal.com profile] stc_novel).

I'm less than a thousand words short of the goal, and only one chapter away from the end of the story.

I hope things are going well for everyone else!
