Need a project in October to psyche you up for November?

In the October issue of "The Writer", I noticed a listing for a poetry contest being hosted by George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia. Check out Phoebe: A Journal of Literature and Art; click on the "contests" link. There are actually two contests, one for short fiction and one for poetry.

Submission deadline for both is December 1st.

I'm entering; not sure which one I might try for... maybe both. :)

Also, I went ahead and created a writing journal the other day. It's at cygnus_writes. If you'd like to add it, comment on this post or my main journal (cygnus, duh), as the writing journal is friends-only.
