AIM ROOM: nanosprints
TIME: 2pm PST/3pm MST/4pm CST/5pm EST
- 10pm PST/11pm MST/12am CST/1am EST
WHAT: Just like it sounds, bouts of NaNo Sprints! Come and sprint in 10 minute bursts, the :10, :30, & :50. There will be a 10 minute break between each sprint.

Feel free to come in ahead of time and chat to fellow NaNo'ers.

PLEASE REMEMBER THAT WHILE THE SPRINTS ARE TAKING PLACE THERE WILL BE NO TALKING AS IT DISTRACTS FROM THE 'STOP' TIME. SOME HAVE THEIR CHATS SET TO BLINK AND THE BLINKS TAKE AWAY FROM KNOWING WHEN TO STOP. IF YOU ARE ASKED TO STOP TALKING, PLEASE DO SO IMMEDIATELY. Thank you.

Any questions, AIM us at 'lodiodiodio' or 'Ramdonomo'. We will be running the sprints in two hour shifts today, so if one of us isn't available, message the other.

You can invite yourself! All you need to do is open your Buddy list. Click 'chat', then clear the list. Put your name there instead and in the place of room name, put nanosprints. Easy Peasy!

Rules are same as always:

- Discuss your novel. Ask people for ideas if you're stuck.
- DON'T discuss religion, politics, lifestyle choices.
- Don't tear each other down. Not on plot choice OR word count.

Never, ever be the first to talk in the Sprint room. There MAY be a Sprint going on. :)

So I have a problem.

I'm ~4500 words behind where I need to be. By tomorrow, I'll be ~6000 words behind. My problem is that I care way too much about my story that I can't just go fast because it would feel like I was abusing it. I'm really invested my plot and my characters, it's like I care too much about them to start writing crap just to finish in time. I hadn't anticipated how long it would take to write 1667 decent words a day.

So, I don't think I have many options. I could start over with a story that I don't care about but then I'd be ~11,000 words behind that I'd have to make up very quickly. Or, I could just tough it out and try to dedicate more time to this story that I care about and try to catch up.

*sigh* Is anyone having this problem? Like you're too attached to go really fast and risk a poorly written novel? My plot is so intricate that I can't forgot small details or the rest of the story doesn't make sense. Anyone have any ideas to help me? I'm like *this* close to saying "Screw it, I'll take as much time as I want to make the novel pefect" but then I'd feel like a failure and I'd have to wait 11 whole months to try again.

Feel free to rant about any NaNo-related problems you're having. Misery loves company.
