This happened last night, but still. I need a bouncy squee moment? XD; Anywho...

I got to 50k last night! Squee! *dances* I'm only about 75% done with my novel (maybe a little less, since I remembered there's not two major chunks of scenes, but three. D:), and I think I'm gonna start a new one while we're at it. I'm just a bit of an overachiever for my first NaNo? :] Yeahhhhh.

I do have a question, though! More like two. I'm absolutely horrible at motivating myself. I dunno if this'll happen or not, but now that I'm over 50k, I might not be so motivated to work on this. How'd you keep motivated after you reach 50k when the month isn't even over yet?

Now for the second question! YAY FOR QUESTIONS <3 I actually haven't really had anyone to talk to anyone the entire time. (since none of my friends are really online...) Would anyone want to be a writing buddy? I apologize if this isn't the right post to ask about that. D:

Thank yew thank yew very much!

What's everyone listening to while they write? I have an eclectic play list but and I'm working a double shift today, meaning I have even more time to write. So, hit me. What do you got?

PS - Great suggestions guys! I really need some upbeat stuff. It's gonna be a long night!

Has anyone noticed things influencing your writing such as books you're reading, conversations you overhear, or movies you see?

I recently watched Gangs of New York and if you don't know, it has a lot of blood and violence in it. My story initially has a quite a bit of this seeing as it deals with zombie-like beings and the survivors trying to deal with it all. But after watching that movie, I went to bed and when I woke up, thought of my final scenes which end in massive amounts of blood shed (like, lakes of blood status) due to a very hostile survival group playing antagonist to the group I stick with through my whole novel. Thinking on it, I'm pretty sure that film influenced the scene.

Has this sort of thing happened to you?

...ICONS.

So. Where do y'all get your NaNoWriMo icons. I need some. Desperately.

(And, obviously, this is what I'm doing instead of writing like I should be.)

So my character won't stop pissing off the woman he's SUPPOSED to be getting along with really well. They have to like each other before I kill her off. :( Man, I just wanna punch him in the leg.

What obnoxious directions are your characters leading your story?

The other night, I brought a notebook along to choir practice at church, and was working on bits and pieces of my novel while the director was working with the other voice parts, and even sometimes during the long rests where it was just the organ or the organ and solos/other voice parts. Which led me to wonder: what are some of the crazy places other people have been writing? I'm sure there's some pretty crazy ones out there (this is NaNoWriMo after all), so let's hear them!
