Non Sprint Chats
These chats are not moderated, and don't have a set schedule for running. However, if you're looking to chat or scheme with other writers without the stress of sprints try out the room NanoWriteIn. If you need help getting in to the room or just want a buddy, feel free to contact: xCagesOrWingsx.
If you decide to open the room you can make a post on the community and people should come flocking in! :D

If you receive a message stating that the room is full we will create a spill-over room using a number after the term. i.e. 'nanodaysprints2' 'nanoeveningsprints2' or 'nanointothenight2' If the moderator is not in the room please message them to let them know. We try to stay on the ball, but it's not always easy to know everything.

For information and rules on how sprints are run please refer to this post: http://community.livejournal.com/nanowrimo/2042340.html

So I was just told that I completely flunked my Publisher unit in my course. I'm completely shell-shocked. All the stress that had been piling up because of schoolwork and NaNo burst out in a stream of tears.

Of course, I'm okay now since I took a break and had a breath of fresh air outside and have been told that I can assess again, but now I'm thinking what's the point in all this? Will completing my Business Admin cert III get me a job? What's the point in continuing to write? I'm considering having my MC fail one of his tests to make myself feel better.

Today is november 20th. According to the whole little breakdown "where you should be" list, you should be at 33,340.

Yes, I can hear you screaming in frustration over there. I'm sorry for that reminder.

BUT! There is hope!

Today we have the fun "Accountability and Cheerleading Post!" This is where we break up into two teams and work together to pull up some of these word counts.

SO. Here's how it works.

Anyone who is under the magic number is to reply here with a comment that just states what your word count is.

Anyone who is OVER the number - ESPECIALLY THOSE WHO ARE PAST 50K - is to go through the inspire and cheer on the underdogs. Give them a "You Can Do It!" speeches or throw random plot ideas at them to add in, or offer to help go over their nano and find a way to get the plot moving. Something to pull them back into the black and out of the red.

Then, before you're done for the night, you have to reply to each and every person who cheered you on what your word count ended the day was so they can see how much they helped - and you better not disappoint them ;)

So what are you waiting for? Get to work already!

My NaNo Novel is done at 60,340! Probably the official count will be closer to 60k since the NaNo word counter seems to like to eat my words or something. Is it sad that I went back and added words until I got an even number?

Anyway, thanks to everybody here whose posts gave me inspiration and motivation. You guys are awesome!

The NaNoWriteIn room is now open! If you're not familiar with it, it's an AIM chatroom for NaNo that's not a sprinting room. So, if you need a break from sprinting or just want to hang out, come on in! IM me at xcagesorwingsx if you need an invite.

So in a bout of procrastination, I separated my scenes into chapters and titled them, something I'd been avoiding doing, because I can get so absorbed with thinking up chapter titles and I knew it'd waste a lot of time. And it totally did.

Anyway, this is a post for you to share your chapter titles! Because I love chapter titles. And I've seen a lot of awesome ones for Nanowrimo novels, since some of us tend to use them to pad our word count, cough cough.

Mine behind the cut! )

Oh my gosh you guys! Doesn't the world realize that it's November? It's NaNoWriMo for goodness sake! And yet ... life continues to march on. I still have to get up in the morning and go to work, still have to do the dishes and pay the bills, still have to nag the kids about their homework and drive them to their karate lessons. *dramatic sigh* I have managed anyhow, somehow, *so far* to do okay. I've stayed fairly on track and churned out the words.

Then the fifteenth happened. I think that is what it was. We passed the half-way mark. My word count was pretty good. I totally lost my ooomph. Life kinda demanded my attention, and I was tired, and I deserved a day or two off, right? I am at two days straight now of not a single word written. My daughter comes home from SDSU on Monday evening. The kids are out of school for the week. There is grocery shopping to be done, bread to bake and Turkey to cook.

Suddenly I am feeling pretty overwhelmed, and not nearly as "ahead" as I was feeling. I am *totally* excited about NoWD and am hoping that will be the thing to push me over the threshold, but I'm not feeling the confidence I hoped I would be. My story is floundering, my characters whisper to me, but not the things I want them to whisper, and life ... life just keeps on sticking it's nose in.

So, what's happening in *your* NaNo world? How are you dealing with the upcoming Holiday crunch and fitting writing into the crevices of time life allows you? How is your morale and excitement level? Tell me something inspirational, or share your woes.

Anybody else thinking they are going to definitely make the time for next Wednesday mornings early day write-in?

*Shaking myself up, doing a few mental jumping jacks, flexing my typing fingers and getting ready to give my inertia a good swift kick.*

---- several hours later -----

I literally had to sit in a dark room, turn off the music, turn my screen black and type in a dark gray font so I could see where my cursor was, but not have the words glaring up at me from the screen ... but I managed to knock out almost 4000 words tonight!

I just won with 50009 words! I'm going to add a little more, but the story is pretty much done. It was tough getting those last few words, but after writing 4000 words today, I made it.
For those of you that haven't made it, keep going! You can do it! I believe in all of you, and I hope to see my friends page spammed with all your winning posts!

...I'm gonna go sleep now.
