Hi guys! As most of you know, NaNo is literally just right around the corner. This is usually at this point that one might be freaking out over how they're going to get their word count in. 50K isn't easy and doing it in 30 days is slightly insane.

However, many of us NaNoers have relied on sprints to help us get our word counts up and keep us insane during the month of self imposed isolation!

This year, [livejournal.com profile] allyear_sprints is sponsoring the official sprints of the [livejournal.com profile] nanowrimo community!

What does that mean? How do I sign up? What is a sprint? When do they start? Well all your questions and more will be answered under the cut.

Each Wednesday, a picture will be posted. You can use it to inspire your writing.

If you use, feel free to snare a snippet of how it inspired you.

Here's your first picture:

There are a BAJILLION* time zones in this world and we cannot do a YAY IT'S FINALLY NANOTIME as each time zone hits midnight.

For one, ugh we're tired.

For two, ugh you'd be annoyed if it's not your region - I know you. A BAJILLION* posts saying "Yay It's NaNo Time!" on the hour, every hour, for a BAJILLION* hours would be, well, ugh.

So! This is the OFFICIAL post. If you want to start a count down for your time zone, start it. If you want to just curl up and sob in pure panic because it's officially midnight your time, start a comment. If you want to - whatever, start it in the comments.

Oh, and btw, it's um, NaNo Time, woo.

Just did the math:

November: 721 hours
Sleep: 240 hours
------
Leaving: 481 hours

So:

November: 481 hours
Eating/Hygiene: 45 hours
------
Leaving: 436 hours

So:

November: 436 hours
Work/School: 160 hours
------
Leaving: 276 hours

So:

November: 276 hours
Life: 36 hours
------
Leaving: 240 hours

So:

November: 240 hours

What are you going to do with those 240 hours? That's 8 hours* a day. You can use those to figure out how he met his mother, to play on the computer, obsess over your glitch, or farmville.

Or:

You could write a novel.

I choose plan B. How about you?

*On average. Again, it's different for everyone, but still it's jarring just how much time we really DO have when you break it down.
