nanowrimo_ljWell, more revisions to my plot are in order. Some of you have already read them, and I apologize for sticking it in your face again. New idea:
Girl is one of a set of triplets. All three are brilliant, but the girl has been dumbing herself down to fit in better with the popular crowd at school and is slowly not only pretending to be stupider but becoming stupider by not exercising her brain. Her brothers one day build a time machine to travel back in time to witness all the great scientific breakthroughs in history. They try and convince her to join them without telling her what it’s really about, but she blows them off. Later, a sign from them somehow shows that they’re stuck and need help, and she has to go about reconstructing their machine to find them and bring them back.
Of course, there are various other plot twists that are stewing, but I'd rather not put them down here yet until I know I'm using them. Besides, I don't want to give away my whole plot—y'all might very well be reading my NaNovel in stages as it's written.
If anyone's interested in reading about that—or, indeed, just interested in the odd things that seem to come out of my mind—please post a comment here or on the friends-only post in my blog, and I'll add you so you can read it. I'll post some of it as I go along on here, but there'll be a lot more in my own journal. Danke!
On another note, I put a hold on No Plot? No Problem! at my library. It's on order, sadly, but I'll be the first one to read it when it comes in! I've heard good things about it, and in my current NaNo-obsessive mood I really would enjoy reading things about it. Unfortunately, though, I don't know when I'll get it—it's taking a little while, and I must confess that I'm impatient! Ah, well; I'm sure it'll come eventually. How many of you have read it?
