I knew this was going to be a challenge but I didn't realise quite how hard it would be. Already I'm about 3000 words behind where I think I need to be - not helped by staying up til 3am to watch elections in a country that I don't even live in (won't bore you with my partisan comments, check my journal if you want to know about that)
Now I'm feeling shattered having come home from work and I can't seem to concentrate on anything.
More amusingly, an early part of my novel is set in the Scottish Highlands and I'm trying to invent a name for the village in which my narrator lives - I've just googled my first two ideas - Auchnacraig and something similar and it turns out that not only do they both already exist but they were within 2 miles of each other, on an Island I've never visited !
