So I'm getting bored with my book. I think it's moving too slowly, but I also think it needs to in order for me to fill up 50,000 words. I'm thinking of just running through the plot, and then where I end up, I end up. And then I'll have to write some more plot. Is anyone else bored yet by their characters?

I'm not bored with mine, per say... but I'm worried that when i finish the story... it's going to be too short...

Nope, I loves me my characters, I do!

You should add plot ninjas! Never fail, those.

Well, then, what are you waiting for? There's an endless amount of words that can be written about the coolness of pirate ninjas! It's easier to write when you're writing the cool stuff.

"Haven'tered" is the among the coolest words I have ever encountered. XD

Oh my goodness, you're going to bridge the bitter gap between ninja and pirate! Oh, that's fantastic!

There are a couple times I've gotten bored with my characters, but i've managed to get through it. Usually if I find a character that's too boring or feel that my MC is too one-dimensional I make up some strange quirk or tragic life experience or just something random to add to their personality. Doing this has not only helped me stay interested, but also it adds more drama and rounds out the characters alot.

I'm a bit annoyed at my charrys. They're moving it along too fast, and I'm sitting at around 14.5k and going, Hey, no way, you can't rescue her yet. No. you can have a near rescue, and it will fail, and the only reason they won't kill her out of hand is because the guy that paid them to kidnap her in the first place won't pay for damaged merchandise... This kidnapping is supposed to make up the bulk of the book, followed by a quick run in with a plauge in the last 10k or so.

My characters all seem to have developed minds of their own and are doing weird, unplanned things that completely change the direction of the story.

So no, heh. They're not boring me yet.
