I'm way ahead of the daily quota, but not ahead of my plot, which is right about at the halfway point.

This whole thing has really roused my creativity, and I now have two more pretty good ideas for other Regency romances floating around in my head. I hope to have time over my upcoming vacation to rough out their plots.

Anyone else going through the two-week slump? I'm still having fun writing (I always have fun writing), but a little voice in my head is saying, "This is so boring, no one is ever going to want to read it." There's the beauty of NaNo. If I were writing normally, that might slow me down or even stop me. But with NaNo, another voice in my head is saying, "Shut up and keep going, get that word count done!" Lovely!

Yeah, I'm in the 2 week slump too. I think my novel sucks, but it's still a supreme achievement. 1) I've never finished a 50,000 word book, so when I'm done (as I am determined to be by 11/30) I will have set a new personal record and 2) I'm actually pushing through the inner critic to write on a SEMIdaily basis.

.. and yes, I agree with your post. I've never written anything longer than 4 single spaced pages in word before. Now I'm up to 66. o.O size 12, times new roman.. amazing!

The weird thing, coming up with the words isn't causing me any problems at all. (Usually during Week Two, I can't come up with ANYTHING.) But the whole "this is boring" thing is definitely there. It's not all that great for me, either, since my NaNovel is a fanfic I'm writing as a present to a friend... He's a much better writer than I am, and he likes my writing, but I can't shake the feeling that he's not going to want to read 50,000 words of MY crap. XD;

And yes, icon? Bwahaha. ^_____^

totally. i restarted my novel on the 9th, and have over 20k but oh the slump... i squeezed out about 800 words last night, and haven't written a single word today, hmm.

Thanks, everybody, for the compliments on the icon! I'll pass them along to Sher, another NaNo'er who created it (and my other two) for me. You can imagine that, since she is also doing a NaNo novel, she can use some cheerful words right now!

And congratulations to all of you! Keep up the good work. And cj_sparx, I write fanfic, and I think pretty well, but I love reading the fanfic of my friend Sher, so don't worry about how your friend will think of your work. Just having a fic done for him will make him happy, I'm sure!
