Can abortion be considered a type of surgery? I had an excerpt in my Xanga blog and one of my friends im-ed me saying that he thought abortion isn't a surgery; just a procedure. (I mention both words, "procedure" and "surgery" in my excerpt.)
Any ideas?
(oh and I HATE POETRY with a PASSION...I got an F and an "X" on my first two rough drafts ever...yay me. It's so depressing, not that I ever fooled myself thinking I was a good poet but still....)

Just throw all concepts of it out the window, forget about structure, forget about rhyme, forget about anything and write about something you give a damn about. In fact, try writing a character's observances on something as an exercise - say, a character of yours relating a stapler obscurely to some event in her life. It can be fun. I swear.
I'm a poet playing at being a novellist with everyone telling me just how easy it is, so I thought I'd interject with my vice versa.
