Word Count/Excerpt Posts?

So...this may be a strange question, and there may be a post somewhere miles back about it, but...

What happened to the daily word count/excerpt posts?

I miss them. It was nice to see how everyone else was doing--what I should be striving for, etc--and I liked reading excerpts of people's novels. Does anyone know if those will be coming back any time soon, or are they gone for good? If it's just that the mods don't have time, I'd be happy to run them. I have Word Count Post/Excerpt Post icons from last year's nanowrimo. 

Anyone know what's going on?
