Hit 50,028 around lunch time. Still got a fair bit of story to cover before the end.

Annoyingly another story idea has just hit me this afternoon. Probably one of those short term things which I'll play with for a while before losing interest so now I'm having a little dilemna trying to decide whether or not I should start making notes for that or whether I should plough on through my NaNo and see if I still feel inspired to write this other idea after that :)

honestly right now it is pure will power! I have thought about writing a dream sequence where my MC dreams of being a mermaid just to purge myself of the desire to write about mermaids ;) I have decided to sketch out some of the stories so I do have ideas to work on after this one is finished. Won't take me long to flip open my notebook and scribble ideas down as they hit me so I don't forget!

i notice that all of these word counts are very high, so i thought that i would weigh in... after starting my novel this weekend, i was proud of my 3000+ words in just a day and a half. i wish i had more time and less distractions, but i'm in this to get some writing done. this is my first novel and even my first bit of writing in a number of years. not that i'm justifying! ;o)

I sat down, and wrote for a good 2 hours this evening, abandoning my history homework, and I finally passed my target!
