It's your NaNo, it can be whatever you want it to be. In my case, I'm trying to write every day. Fanfiction, existing original fic, or new fic, ANYTHING. As long as it's fiction and not homework, I'm counting it.
My goal for this year's NaNo is to get back into the habit of writing every day. With three jobs and a full classload, I didn't want to commit to any quantity, especially after falling short the past two years. So for me to succeed, I just have to write every day.
