Many of you who have gone to school know what Homecoming week is all about. Typically there is a 'spirit week' leading up to the big game where everyone can show off their school spirit and have a blast. Great games and activities are planned and it's fun for all.

Well guess what?

We're going to institute Sprint Week (get it sprint? rdrr?) for NanoWrimo! The entire week leading up to November 1st, your mods here at [livejournal.com profile] nanowrimo and [livejournal.com profile] allyear_sprints have fun and excitement planned for you, including special sprints, amazing discussion forums, and crazy daily activities.

The fun starts on October 25th. Let me break it down for you.



October 25th

Special Event: Create your own soundtrack for NaNoWrimo!
Special Dress: Wear your craziest pair of socks all day long
Special Sprints: 5am-8am - Host: Emmy - plotting sprints (character, setting, ideas)
8pm - Host: Kitty - Soundtrack sprint - join Kitty in creating your special soundtrack for nanowrimo

October 26th

Special Event: Create your book cover day!
Special Dress: Dress like your book jacket photo day.
Special Sprints: Noon - 2pm - Rolling up a quick character - Host: Jill
2pm - 6pm - the art of sprinting with distractions - Host: Melissa

October 27th

Special Event: Create a NanoWrimo Eye Mask (shopping list and details to come)
Special Dress: Pajama party day! Wear your pjs all day long! (or at least while you're prewriting and joining us for sprints!)
Special Sprints: 10am-1pm - Raising the Stakes and Character Reactions - Host: River
8pm-10pm Create the Sleeping Mask - Host: Mel

October 28th

Special Event: Open the Thesaurus Day! An extra long list of words to add to your NaNoWrimo
Special Dress: Wear your writing hat day!
Special Sprints: 7pm-10pm - Sarah - Fun with Synonyms {finding the wordy way to say something}

October 29th

Special Event: NaNo Bracelet Day! Make a cord to wear around your wrist the month of Nov.
Special Dress: Crazy accessories, from hats, to gloves, dress it up like crazy.
Special Sprints: 10am - 1pm - The Cloud - Making the time (writing when you don’t have the inspiration/time).
5pm - 8pm - The Cloud - Fun with outlining? (tentative based on work schedule)
8pm - 11pm - Rachel - Writing Trivia

October 30th

Special Event: Organizing your nano writing area 101
Special Dress: NaNo Gear Day - wear your nano themed gear, or make your own nano tshirts. :)
Special Sprints: 8am-11am - Cat - He said/She said - new ways to express dialogue
8pm - midnight a journey into insanity - Melissa

October 31st

Sprints from noon on, with special events the hour before each kick off in the continental USA, leading all the way until November 1st!

Special note: Every day we will have a post up for people to post pictures of themselves wearing or participating in the daily theme/dress etc! It's entirely optional, but feel free to have fun with it! We know that we will!

Oh, this is so great! I love how many events there are during the day (evening for me) I was worried they would all be scheduled after 6pm EST which would make it nearly impossible for me to attend (seeing that that is already midnight for me). But YAY it looks like I'll be able to join in a lot of the fun! Can't wait!
