Pep Card: Day 18 )

Okay, I want a show of hands. How many of you started reading this and thought Chris was going to advise us to not give in to the temptation of going on a murdering spree in our novels as a perfect excuse to re-cast the whole thing because our current characters were driving us up the wall?

*raises hand*

..Yeah, that's what I thought. We're all nuts.

And Can I just say that this advice is how I started NaNo? I had no idea how to kill (oh, the irony!) one of the key players in my prologue, so I decided to skip it and start after the event had taken place and it wasn't until the end of week one when the idea had hit me while on my way to dinner with my family. The reason? I had just had to write another death scene, one which ended up being directly related to the one that had yet to be written. So hang in there! Solutions do exist!

Pep Card: Day 19 )

Sorry for not posting yesterday. I did inventory Saturday night and when I got up yesterday afternoon I was in no condition to think about anything except staying coherent enough so I could go back to work.

Welcome to Mid-Way Station Redux!

...Okay, so bad inside-joke attempt and - once more - obscure SGA reference aside, I give you the half-way point of NaNo! And what does our Guru, Christ Baty have to say on this auspicious-for-some, unfavourable-for-others, yet monumental-for-all day?

Well, this, actually:

...I think we should just make Dory's silly song into this year's NaNo mantra...having it apply 3 days in a row is uncanny enough to give it Theme Song status.

Almost half-way there, folks! I'm so glad to see a bunch of you jumping on the inspirational bandwagon and posting other quotes and snippets! Keep'em coming because you can never OD on inspiration! Well, you can, but not during NaNo...

Pep Card: Day 12 )

And in the eternal words of Dory, "Just keep swimming, just keep swimming..."

Considering that I just had a flash of brilliance in how to handle my own plot, this is great advice. I hope it helps you!
