National Novel Writer's Month

What is this madness?: Three years ago as Mel was planning her Night of Writing Dangerously I got a brilliant idea. It wasn't nearly as serious, or as beneficial to your word count, but it was a lot of fun. The general idea? Hang out in a sprint room, play drinking games that have to do with writing, and in general, act outrageous. Not to hard, eh?

When is it?!: 12 November, from 8pm-2am EST. We will be opening the room a few hours early, however, so that people can have a little pre-func. Or try to get some writing done before drinking. Either or.

Where is it?: DrunkNaNo on AIM. The name is so easy even a drunk could remember it!

Are there any rules?: In general, the rules are somewhat lax for this event, though we ask that if you are under the legal drinking age in your country you do not partake. Or you drink something like soda. Legally we cannot condone underage drinking, and a lot of the subjects that will be discussed probably won't be suitable for young minors. However, it's not something we rule with an iron fist. It's the internet, and we're not your parents, so we can't firmly say, "NO YOU CANNOT DO THIS!" but use some common sense.

Will there be any games or prizes?: The prize of the night is you being drunk!
  Seriously though, we will be having games, and depending on how I am feeling there may be small prizes, but nothing too big. Like it says in the graphic, this is the less organized bastard cousin of the original NOWD. NOWD is the one that lives in the city and has a fancy office job. This one... lives in a town with maybe 500 people, and makes their own moonshine on the weekends while hiding from Bubba.

Can we have teams?: I am always amused with how much I get asked this question for sprints in general. The teams for the night will be:

    Depending on what you are drinking, or how you are feeling that night will determine what team you are on. Choose your team wisely, as your teammates will be the ones going down with you at the end of the night.
