Alright, GO ME for actually getting some work done today. Like, 6,000 words done. Three whole chapters done. Yegads! I am so proud of myself.

And my interest in my novel has been resurrected. It was dragging, and even though I knew what needed to happen eventually, I didn't know what needed to happen for me to get there.

So I killed some people.

This may prove problematic in the future. But dammit, I need some words to advance the word count. Hafta shoot first and ask questions later.

If I finish all 50K by 11:59 p.m. November 30--which I fully intend to do--I am going to be so proud of myself. Rarely do I set personal goals and then work determinedly to achieve them. This will be a crowning achievement for me, one which I will wear proudly. Even though most people I know will say, "What the heck is NaNoWriMo?"

P.S. Promised to post more from the Novel, but haven't yet. Sleepy now. Will do tomorrow, cross my heart.

P.P.S. God, I love that icon. Don't you love that icon? It's so damn cute.

Why do I do this to myself. I had all day to get my words in. I was home by 3:00 and yet I didn't start seriiously writing until 11:00 or later.

I guess maybe I needed a break from work, NaNo, and everything else in between, but still, now I'm struggling to get my words out and my eyes are already glazing over. I could do it if I didn't care at all about what I was writing, but even though I've learned to accept that I'm writing crap, I still want to put forth effort.

Argh... I guess I am my own Sadist to my internal Masochist.

omg. omgwtf. I am fully two weeks ahead.

Life is good.

Honestly, though, I'm positive this is going to run 75k, so I'm thrilled to have the extra time - I didn't want to get to 50k around November 28 and realize, oh, shit, I still have an entire story to wrap up. But I'm working myself along towards Big Problem #3, which leads into the close of the story, so all should go well. Am running into a few minor snags - i.e., one character has decided he's maybe-kind of in love with the MC, when MC is clearly in love with another character, and the second character loves her as well. And of course, MC is being a whiny pansy and getting very withdrawn, but I'm hoping Love Interest will pull her out of her shell.

Don't say it can't happen to you, because I made that mistake and hit the wall head first yesterday. I wrote 1,000 words that headed the story in a direction that I didn't want, so I had to scrap all 1000. Feeling like a total failure, I wanted to give up then and there. Instead, I managed another 3,000 word to get a total of 24,000.
Can you say I got over the wall? Maybe not, the wall might not be done with me yet!

I am such a slacker! I've set the daily goal of 2000 words, realizing that some days are extremely busy for me and I won't be able to write at all. So far, there have been 3 of those busy days, and on two of those I managed to write at least something (1000 words one day, 600 another). That should put me in tune with where I should be in the month, and with only one more anticipated "non-writing day," in good shape to finish.

However, yesterday I allowed myself to be distracted -- 600+ words short of the daily goal. I've now made up for that lack, but now have today's goal to work on. Considering that I also slept in, this is not a good start!

Ok, I allowed myself this small bit of procrastination, but no more! I'm off to write at least 1000 words before I do anything else.

*sigh*

I think I'm doing all right. I've been hitting a few rough spots here and there, but I've managed to work through them. :) I think I'm going to be able to finish it. Which is a very good thing. :) I'm excited. :D

I also got accepted to Bowling Green State University!!! So that's exciting! :D!

As most of you know, I crunched out a good 7,000 words Thursday, thus, putting me where I needed to be... For Thrusday. I didn't write yesterday, and I haven't touched my novel today. Mostly because the last 2500 words that I wrote Thursday are on my mom's computer, and I forgot to e-mail them to myself. Doh! *headdesk*

So I'm going to go nap, then go over there, and e-mail my novel to myself, get my pillow that I left *grumble*, go visit my mother-in-law and the new baby... Then come home and get to writing. I've got two days' worth of work to do. While I don't think it's altogether impossible, I do think it's going to be difficult if I keep putting it off. *sigh* I'm at 18,364 right now... Roughly 3,300 off of where I need to be, and 4,000 behind my personal goal for today.

I'll update later, when the stats change. Happy writing!

I am so frustrated right now...Week 2 really is hell for NaNoing!

1. Week 2 Wall
2. Got a seriously intense sore throat (kind of swollen)
3. Behind on WC
4. Parents asked me what I thought about them getting a divorce.

I don't need this right now! Stupid body! Stupid divorce!

Has anyone here done NaNoWriYear? I'm probably not going to meet quota for NaNoWriMo, because I have finals all next week and an afghan to finish knitting in time to ship off for Christmas. I also have no less than five stories pestering me, so I don't get very much done on my NaNo story when I do find time to write.

I looked at the website for NaNoWriYe, and it seems like it would suit me better--everyone gets a turn and I have more time to work on them. I'm just wondering, does anyone have the experience to tell me a little more about it?

It's been a LOOONG time since I lived in CT and I can't remember all the details of the Blue Laws there. I didn't drink at the time either, so that's not helping me.

I just need to know what the Blue Laws cover, where you can and can't drink after 9:00 and on Sundays and if it just applies to buying at a liquor store, or to bars and restraunts as well.

I learned all about iPodding from Warren and now I've been playing with that. Downloaded an overview of Zoroastrianism from the BBC, some San Francisco blues music, the Al Franken show, all to my iPod.

Which means I haven't been writing today. Grr.

So, I'm behind and I know it, but I'm getting stuck on this one part of my novel. It's not that I can't find the words or anything - it's that I don't want to write it.

Many ranty details )
So, yeah. Any of you had to deal with a scene that you knew you had to write, but just didn't feel comfortable writing?
