Granted, parts of this were so poorly done it's not even funny, but that's what revision is for. At least I have a rough idea of how I want things to go, and working off copy is a LOT easier than coming up with it all from scratch.

I feel accomplished now. Hopefully that'll be worth the lost sleep. =p

Here we are, Day 22... And I'm so ready to just throw in the towel. I'm ready to throw it all away, and just write this thing some other time. But I won't. Because I realized that 50,000 words doesn't mean that it has to be 50,000 words of the same story. It can be. And if it is, it doesn't have to be 50,000 words of consecutive story. I can write different scenes at different times, as long as I hit 50K, and just cut and paste and throw in a few connector sentences later on, if I ever decide to publish (or share) this work of art.

So, even though I'm not anywhere near where I should be for Day 22, I'm going to keep on truckin'. And if I hit 50K, then great, I did a fabulous job. I've still got 8 days, right? I can do what it took me 22 days to do in 8, because now, I'm not writing in consecutive order. I have an outline of events, and there are loads of events on said outline. If I make each event 2500 words, I'll hit 50K, no problem. It's just making 2500 words out of each one. >_<

Halfway there... *metaphorically crosses fingers (as it would be difficult to continue typing with physical fingers crossed)*

Here's to hoping that I can crunch out 25K in 8 days!

I completed and posted chapter 7 (of 10) of "Suffer the Children" ([livejournal.com profile] stc_novel) yesterday, and I have a decent start on Chapter 8.

I hope things are going well for everyone else!

Does anyone know of a good word count site other than Shipbrook? I can rarely log in there, even though I have my computer set to accept cookies. I'm writing my novel in MS Word, but it counts low. Thanks!

my "plot" ended a while ago and i'm just shy of 40K, so now it feels like i'm pushing an old chevy into a gas station... 10 miles uphill.

any words of encouragement?
