Hey if anyone has any nano writing icons for us cat-handers I'd be grateful. I like the one if have up there but it's for a right-hander and that bothers me a little bit.

Thank you.

I have a technical question for all of you armchair tacticians and strategists, and a couple for all you armchair dramatists. ;-)

Story world )
Mindpowers: influences and inspirations )
Foundation of the colony )
Backstory: an untold history )
The villain of the piece and the protagonists' mission )

My questions )

Thanks in advance for suggestions!

1 As do a lot of good Lost Star Colonies, I have a master AI, but it didn't get buried by a volcano during a rush to evacuate; it hasn't been quite dormant, but neither has it been so active in keeping watch over humanity that maintains a telepathic link to its agents; it is designed to intervene for the good of humanity, but it doesn't deliberately take on personae of important figures to influence the leaders of factions or empires. (Bonus points to anyone who can idenfity all three of those series and their AIs!)

Take a page from the book of the Pros:

Q.D. Leavis's recipe for bestseller literature:

"Bad writing, false sentiment, sheer silliness and a preposterous narrative are all carried along by the magnificent vitality of the author."

What holds true for classics like Benjamin Disraeli's "Sybil", can hold true for you NaNovel as well, if you just write! Go, Go, Go! :-)

And don't forget to consider posting fantasy writing at [livejournal.com profile] myraworld ;-)

I better do alot today because tomorrow I am supposed to take my neice and nephew to the movies. They are 4 and 2. I probably won't be able to write anything. It will be a welcomed break from all the writing.

Ya'll pray for me. I am not sure how it is going to be. I have never taken two toddlers to the movies at the same time before. Perhaps, it will inspire me to write something fabulous when I get back home.

I just pulled an all-nighter and now, twelve hours later, I ended up with a grand total of 960 words. I must be doing something very, very, very wrong, I've been writing almost every day and I only have 9K. How could I possibly be writing this slowly? I just don't understand it. Ugh, I don't care if I have to stay up all week, I want to make 15K before I go to bed.

I've been sitting at my laptop for 5 hours and I ache! So now I've decided to write long hand and type later. It means I'm increasingly unlikely to get my tragic fantasy finished, but my back hurts, and I don't want to make it worse. Has anyone else got this problem? If so, is there any cure you can recommend?

This writing business is a literal pain, but I'm so glad I decided to do it!

I just wrote a passage comparing a character to Lady Macbeth, and Microsoft Word helpfully suggested I change it to Lady Machete.

*cackles maniacally*

*falls over, out cold*

My MC was supposed to make it back to his grocery store before anything bad happened, when suddenly my brain said "wouldn't it be awful if he was kidnapped by pirates?" and the part that was writing said "shut up." And the first part said again, "ha ha ha, here are the pirates! They are kidnapping him!" and the second part said, "crap."

!!!

Plot bunny, right? Hee hee hee! At least I am ahead in my word count! *dances in the VIP lounge*
