Hi everyone. Sorry if I am overstepping my bounds, but I've started a magazine called THE STRANGER NYC and the Fall 2004 print edition is coming together nicely- I've got lots of great photos, a couple of music reviews, some stories, and a short comic already, but I am in somewhat desperate need of more non-fiction and poetry. I am particularly interested in getting some actual journalism in the magazine- something investigative perhaps.

In any case, we are also publishing new content online all the time, so if anyone wants to be considered for publication, I'd love to hear from you. You can check out the website to get a general idea of what we like- but keep in mind the website is a very very pared down version of what the second print edition will be like. We're looking for unique points of view, mainly. And it's called THE STRANGER NYC because we're based in NYC, but anyone and everyone is welcome.

I'd be interested in submitting. Two things: I have a novel coming out in a couple of weeks--would you guys be interested in reviewing it? Second: I'd love to submit some poetry, however, everything I have is going into a collection to be released in October. Would you be printing your second edition before October, so that I could give you proper credit?

Hi, thanks for the interest. We would definitely consider reviewing your novel- if you can either provide a sample chapter or a synopsis for me, I can try to find a reviewer. Also, we are planning on printing towards the end of September, but we have had a few delays and it is looking like we might end up having to print in early October, so that is a little hard to say. I will probably be able to have definite dates in a couple of weeks.

Hm. Well, if you are going to print in September, let me know, and I'll send something along if I have new material by then, but the poetry I have is all committed to the collection at the moment.
