I saw an ad for this place on Yahoo, and clicked. If anyone's interested, take a look and see.

Hmm... I would warn against any self publisher, or POD. They tend to be money pits that mean you lose your first rights. Not the sort of thing you could put on a kudos list, either.

Hmm. The fact that you need to sign up to get more information seems a bit sketch...

For self-publishing, Xlibris seems pretty legit. They're a subsidiary of Random House... You can find 'em at xlibris.com :)

iUniverse IS a legitimate company ;) Lots of places do that these days--many news stations make you sign up. Having your demogrpahics (or, in unsavory cases, your address) to sell can get them the money needed to help run their site.

An author on a board I used to watch used iUniverse, and was impressed with it. They're basically just a printer, you have to do all the selling and editing and everything else yourself, but they didn't try to gyp him out of anything, and he'd made money on it for little or no outlay. I bought his book (http://books.iuniverse.com/viewbooks.asp?isbn=0595164730&page=fm1") from them and didn't have any complaints.
