Although it has that kind of look about it... it's supposed to be kind of a nostalgic story, with this woman going back to a playground she used to play at as a kid and remembering her close neighborhood friends and sort of comparing them to what they are like now.
I can see where you would get "horror." I think it's the angle of the shot, and maybe the title. One of those The ______ fill in the blanks. Like, The Shinning.
But, I can also see it as a nostalgic story about growing up and childhood friends and just being young. It is after all very sunny and bright, and horror stories usually have darker covers.
But I immediately jumped, of course, to "Where are all the children? They're not playing, so they must have been chopped into little bits and buried in the sand."
My story is in five sections, kind of. It's this woman who is going back to a playground she used to play at when she was little, and reminiscing about the four other children she used to play with. Each section is devoted to one of the children, and what they have grown up into in comparison to what they were like when they were little. And the last section is her own story. It's based on a really super short thing I wrote once.
