So I'm having this conversation in c_kretsquirrel's lj, and I'm suddenly hit with Yet Another NaNo Idea:

Great, now I'm thinking my nano may be a comedy--some friends accidentally-on-purpose kill someone, and have to dispose of the body...

Come on, November! I want to focus on just one project! GAH!

yeah, i keep getting hit with the urge to write something other than my nano novel. I like my plot idea, and i already have an lj set up for it, but i want to write smut.

I can write smut easier, and i know i can churn out tons of words. Problem is my nano novel isn't one where i can easily slide in smut....

I did a smut nano last year. Much fun, especially since I was writing on the subway. Problem was I didn't get it all transcribed and uploaded in time. :(

I have the same problem as well. I was just reading this book about when you write you should stick to what you know, and stick to one genre, but I often find myself wanting to take on several different projects from different genres. I want to write a vampire series similar to Laurell K Hamilton. I want to write good chick lit like Maeve Binchy. I want to write so many different types of books. I think I just love writing.
