I'm pulling out of the contest.

It occured to me that what I'm writing has become a big steaming pile of dogturd Mary Sue self insertion wish fullfillment SHITTINESS.

This is not the sort of thing I wish to write, and every time I try to write romance or erotic romance this is what it turns into.

I know that I won't be able to pull something new out of my hat much less write in time, so I have to back out this time. Maybe next year I can come up with a better idea.

Thanks to everyone for your support and I wish you all the best of luck.

Wait, what? No! Shittiness is fine, it's the word count that matters. As for writing erotic romance, my motto for getting through NaNo is and has always been: when in doubt, write porn.

My brand of porn tends toward the comic, such as missed connections, "That's not it!" and falling-out-of-bed-during events. Surely you can save your story from wish fulfillment shittiness with something of that nature!

I second shhbabe's comment! My novel is far from all I would want it to be, but I'm just trying to crank out some words. If you're getting the words out, but the story's a crock, that's okay!

Rethink it...hope you'll jump back in. :)

The only way to get better at writing is to write. Persevere! You can do it. *nods* Perhaps you will not come up with something wonderful here (you aren't far enough removed from it to judge it yet, I think) but what you learn from writing this story will help you with stories to come.

Aww, I'm sorry to hear that you're quitting! Are you sure there's no way to talk you out of it? You might surprise yourself if you keep writing. It's been known to happen.

Either way, best of luck to you in your decision, and for next year if you really decide to try it then instead. :)
