I don't mean to be an asshole, but seriously, if you couldn't pull off more than 522 words (less than a third of the required wordcount for ONE day), what makes you think you'll be able to do better next November?

NaNoWriMo is about just sitting down and writing. I'm tired of hearing people talk about how they only managed to write less than 10k words. All it takes is a bit of discipline and hard work and a desire to meet your daily wordcounts.

Well, let's see; each day brings its own events, as does each week, month, year, yes? Last year i did somewhat better. Next year i will have one less LARGE task to be working on in this same time-frame, so i think i'll do better.

If you didn't want to be an asshole, you wouldn't. And you would probably use your name somewhere instead of being all high-and-mighty anonymous.

You have no idea what anyone else's life involves, so what makes you think it's just about discipline? People get sick, relatives die, work gets crazy; sometimes despite the best of writing intentions you find out that something else is a little more important for you to deal with, even if it is the middle of November.
