I did it! I beat my curse from last year and I won!!!
Actually stopped a few hours ago after doing 5,004 words for the day and after I did the scene where I killed off one of my main characters in a tragic scene. Just too drained now.
I also wanted to say: Beat that ppl who didn't believe in me!
I did it with most of my family members all thinking it was a waste of time or laughing in my face for doing something as "strange" as Nano when I had other things I could have been doing. And my cousins over Thanksgiving were shocked to no end that I would write THAT much and wasn't even getting PAID for it or anything (well maybe just not YET ^_~). Hey, they were just kids and it was funny because they said that they wouldn't even write a 1,000 words if they weren't getting money or something for it. They were also all around 10 or so though so I laughed to myself as I was thinking, "Yeah, you are not going to like school when you grow up."
So, WHAT NANOWRIMO HAS TAUGHT ME (well one of them): that I wish some people were more understanding and less materialistic. Who says in life that you always have to RECIEVE some material thing or money for doing something? What ever happened to just having goals and dreams? So thank you NaNoWriMo!
Allrighty then, here's the run down~
Pen Name: Bella C. Lachesis
Novel Title: "Rumby and Persimmon: Legacy of Love"
Final NaNoWriMo Word Count: 52,345
Time: Started 12:15am November 1, Stopped 10:46pm November 30, 2004
Novel tidbits: 103 pages at size 13 font, New Timew Roman
Category: Childrens/Young Adult (Romance I guess)
About: Two elk -yes, ELK- that fall in love and go on some wild adventures and help others
Status: NOT FINISHED! How sad is that when you want to celebrate something that should be completed, although you are maybe... 25K away from possibly REALLY finishing it? I want my spare time back already!!!
So Congradulations to all of those who have finished!
And the very best of luck to those who are in the same pot as I am and would like to be able to see the light at the end of tunnel that is called: the final editing process.
Cheers! ^___________^

Date: 2004-11-30 10:31 pm (UTC)Originally when I made it as a short comic back in my early high school days they were deer. Doing Nano though in a novel format, I realized "Hmm. Deer are taken." Thus, my mass amounts of research had me conclude with elk -and I'm quite pleased how I worked in their daily life habits and how their elk lifestyle paralleled with human attributes. Even had some of those antler fighting scenes (or whatever they're called when the males/bulls fight) *evil laugh*
