I have everything outlined an plotted and I think I can keep my Muse adhered to it... BUT!

She's wanting smut. So is one of my characters. And if he gets is way, then the object of his desire will be very willing. Thing is, they aren't meant to be together. So, I'm being more and more convinced to write an affair for these two. Not like that's a bad thing...

It's spring time in my story (well, closer to summer - ie. Beltane), and my elves are getting frisky.

Has anyone else gone this route? The smut wasn't supposed to happen until later (and it still will, but...) and not between the characters that are currently steaming things up. I want to keep to my well-laid out plans, but it's all beginning to degenerate into smut.

Not like that's a bad thing...

There will be smut in my story, oh, yes! No one has had a chance to do anything smutty yet, but once my MCs get together, I fear a nonstop boinkfest rather than the rest of the story.

See, that's what I'm hoping to curb before it even gets started. I've already relented enough to write the smut, but I can't let it go on for too long else my OFC will never leave and go where she has to.

The good news is that my MCs will be separated by war for much of the story, so on the occasions when they're briefly reunited it makes sense that they'll spend a lot of time in bed. :)

well, these two characters will be together for a while. BUT! I've been told I can skirt around the issue of sex=marriage and still keep it fairly smutty at the smae time. LOL!

I've got smut in Chapter 2 but I think it's well written adult fiction and not a letter to Penthouse.

IMHO, so long as you write it well without crossing that line between adult fiction and a Penthouse Forum letter then it's not so bad.

Well, I have written quite graphic sex for a few of my characters in other stories, but there's a story around it as well. I haven't gone the route of PWP (PornWithoutPlot). I can't not have a story that leads up to the sex and then what happens after. You know?

I think that made sense. I left my brain back in Oct.

And really, they are getting quite frisky... and insistant that I start writing or else. One slight problem. I'm at work, and I work for the local CBS affiliate. OKA - no real privacy.

The only problem I expect to have with smut is that there's a serial killer and a serial rapist in my story, and they are sicksicksicksick characters to write. Very much so. ... But I don't think that's what you mean.
