Here's the post to help each other out this week. As NaNo is right around the corner, people like you (and even you!) are trying to figure out what the hell they are going to be writing about.

Check in and see if you can help someone out. Post your issues and have others help you.

And really, if you're brave... post that you have NO PLOT IDEA and let people throw random plot ideas at you...

And keep checking back during the week as more people reply into the post!

How about this. Your MC is a single father with a couple of kids who was barely keeping things afloat. He did manage to scrape together enough money and time to head off for a decent, seriously roughing-it vacation - two weeks away from internet, cell phones, TV, and all that. While they're incommunicado, the big collapse happens. They drive out of the really remote area they were camping in, expecting to hit up a gas station to fuel up the car and get some honest junk food in their systems when they find out about it. They can't get gas for the car, because they don't have ration coupons. There was a run on the banks and rapid inflation, so they have only the cash on hand and no chance of using a credit card or an ATM.

Now, MC may have just been roughing it with the kids as a vacation, but he knows he doesn't have the skills to actually live that way. He has to decide whether they're going to find some way to get back to the city and see what's left for them there, or try and establish a new life for themselves in the little town they're now stranded in.
