Well, I'm excited.

It's 2:30 PM, I'm taking a nap until 6 when my boyfriend comes over, we watch a couple scary movies, and he's retiring to my bed while I stay up at midnight to write.

Because I'm trying to write a novel in one day. Did it last year, have a full plot outline for it this year, I think I can do it again.

I have another two novels I'm going to work on. Is anyone else doing 100K or 150K or more this month?

BTW, if this is off-topic, I'm sorry!

You are insane! ((But the good kind.)) I'm wishing you the best of luck on the novel in a day concept!

But I am aiming to do two novels this month. I did two last year, and so with any luck I'll be able to punch out two more this time around. ^^

Wow! My typing speed alone would make that impossible for me.

*sheepish* I'm doing six. And co-writing a seventh.

Or, I'm trying to do six and co-writing a seventh. We'll see how much I get done.

Seven novels in one month? How can you do that?

Painfully. And by losing either the use of my hands or my voice or both. *dictates*

Actually I can do it because about... eight years ago or so, I think? I decided that since I had written 10,000 words in two hours (don't ask, still not sure how I did that) I could take two hours of my day to write 10,000 words per day. And spent the next two years practicing this. And then spent the remaining four to six years or however long it's been keeping at least a 7,000 per day word count. So when Nanowrimo comes around I'm all "Pssh. 1,667 words per day? Poppycock!"

And then I do something stupid. Although so far I think I've done 6 novels in Nanowrimo once, out of the four years I've tried. I can usually do at least two, though.

The even shorter answer is, I'm batshit crazy.

So you dictate it and not type? If so, that's a cool idea.

I do! And it is. I didn't used to, but a couple years back my wrists started hurting, and I have an idea of what that was likely to be, as much as I type. So my family got me a new laptop so I could run a dictate program, and the dictate program, and now every time I have large chunks of things to write I pretty much just use that.

Sometimes if you push yourself, you can achieve great things. Which, really, is what Nano's all about. I just started pushing a little sooner and a little harder than most.

It's something to work towards!

I have the tendency to over-write, but I'm rubbish at guessing how long a novel is going to be. This'll be as long as it needs to be, but I'm not going to bust a blood vessel to finish it before December. Since I conceived the plot I've actually grown quite attached to the story, which was meant to be a throwaway pulpy thing.

If I can finish it in time I will, but I got other stuff to worry about first and foremost.

I'm trying for 90,000 words this time. I thought about 100,000 but that just seemed so much more intimidating than 90,000.

goodness gracious woman. u guys all amaze me with ur plans! im a newbie (i no it was probably ovious) so this is the year to kinda scope out the landscape a bit and see how it goes. no way in hell that i can write a 50k story in a day b/c of school, but if i do end up getting done early, I'm working on a plot line for another story as well.
question: if ur doing more than one story, how do u do the word count thing? and the word count. on the nano website. i mean, thats gtb a little confusing at times.

I'm not, but there are some things in my other unfinished stuff that I might be doing. There's a fifty-one K thing that I'vwe been working for literaly *years* that needs a serious overhall, so I'll probably start that, too.

Along with C, who's been oddly quiet now... I wonder if he's decided to wait. Ah well, we'll see come midnight, I suppose. :)

Wow, that sounds... amazing. I truly admire you. I often fantasize off being able to do something like that but my muses are quite elusive sometimes and I can't type that fast. And my characters have a bad way of starting to run the story their way, effectively ruining any attempt at pre-planning.

Good luck! How many words do you write an hour? Do you eat? Sleep? Go the bathroom?

Have fun and good luck! I would like to reach 100K. I don't know how realistic it is. I know that it is possible, with the amount of time I have, to reach 100K, I just don't know if I'll be motivated enough. I want to write about 5K a day but we'll see how that works out. I'm sure I'll slow down as my plot runs out of steam.

Wow, somebody's ambitious. Very cool! I'm trying for 10,000 words today.

It's only six ish where you are, yeah? That's 18 more hours. Surely you can get 37200 more words in that amount of time. :D I feel pretty stylin at 1112 words. At least I'll make the basic word count for today. I'm spending the day writing away before writing for an hour with a friend and then it's time for work, where there won't be any time to get writing done at. *pouts* But then back home to write some more and then sleep.

I think you'll do it. :D
