Anyone here reach a point with Nano where the 50k isn't much of a challenge anymore? Maybe you get up to 100k or even more and you do Nano cause it's tradition, like hogging the good candy from your kid's Halloween stash once they go to bed. Now I don't do that, no sirree! I'm just sayin'. Well I've kind of reached that point. It made me want to combine Nano with another challenge and a love of my life--drawing. Yes. NaNoDrawWriMo! Or just Nano for the writing and DrawMo for the drawing. You'd essentially draw 50 drawings in a month. 1.3 (or whatever) drawings each day. They would be whatever you wanted. Use the month to practice hands if you're lousy at hands, or draw Snoopy and the Red Baron all month. Or flies. I think it could work if you didn't try to hit high word counts (above the 50k mark). Write a chapter, then pick up the pencil or Wacom and go.

If I went through with this, would anyone want to participate?

I did 100K once and it was HARD. I did it, but I was pretty much always writing. :) But yeah, this will be my seventh NaNo, and I've gotten to the point where it's tradition. So I try to add a little challenge in some way every year. This year, my friend has challenged me to only check my word count once a week, and see what happens. Should be interesting!

Unfortunately, I can't draw to save my life. :) But I think it is an awesome idea!
