So, for all you writers out there plugging away this month, what type of music do you listen to while writing your novel?

Are you the type that the music is specific to the genre you are writing in, or, do you just put your iPod / whathaveyou on random?


Give a shout out to what you are listening to!


So far, the music has been leaning towards (for me)...

"The 5th Element" soundtrack
"Blade Runner" soundtrack
"2001" soundtrack
And a mix of "VNV Nation", "Velvet Acid Christ", "Depeche Mode", and "NIN"

It's the best one. :) We need to buy it on DVD still, but whenever we remember to look for it they only have the "fully restored" version. And it's just not right.

At the moment, the only way to get the original THX version is if you're geeky enough to own it on laserdisc and rip the laserdisc version and transfer it to DVD.

I, fortunately, AM just that geeky enough.

I have the anniversary edition of the THX version on LD (Before all the crap edits) and I ripped it to DVD. it took a while, but I was able to get it done, and it looks fabulous! it's not in surround, because the audio was stero only.

But yeah...I'm a geek like that.

We have it on VHS and are considering having one of our friends put it onto DVDs. He has one of those things which converts VHS tapes to DVD.

If you can get a hold of the laserdiscs AND a player, I would recommend that.

Players run real cheap on Craigslist and any goodwill.

If not, VHS is still good.
