1. What time of day do you do your best writing? Early in the morning, before everyone else gets up, or after midnight with a pot of coffee beside you? Sometime in the middle of the day? For hours at a time or with the few minutes you can grab here and there?

2. Where do you write? In the park? In a coffee shop? All alone in the basement? In the ball pit at playland? On a boat? (Or do you write at work, when you think no one can see what you're doing, simply thinking that at least you're not on IM like you are 11 months out of 12? For shame, for shame.) (Of course I do not know anything about this from personal experience.)

I'm an experimental neuroscientist/psychologist. My thesis is about adaptive aspects of psychosis-like experiences, and the neuropsychological basis of risk for schizophrenia. The novel I'm doing for NaNo isn't really anything to do with that specific issue, but it is related to my other main interest, which is in personality enhancement and neurotechnology!

I'm getting my BA in art history, and contemplating grad school. The novel I'm doing for NaNo is based more on personal experience than anything else, but my plan if all greater ambitions fail is to write romance novels with cheesy Renaissance or Medieval settings--my favorite idea is for a book about a beautiful but relationship-wary art restorer who gets conked on the head one day and wakes up in the very painting she was restoring! She falls in love with the artist, and it'll be called (of course) "A New Perspective on Love."
