Got a problem in your NaNo? Who doesn't?! But we've got a way to help!
Post here with your plot problems, and all through the week members of the community will scan through and see if they can help.
AKA - The best way to procrastinate is to help others!
So post your problem. Then take a moment to look at everyone else's and see if you can help them.
People helping people. That's what makes this community great :)
So have at it!

Date: 2008-11-06 05:03 am (UTC)My MC is a female pirate turned bike messenger (for lack of a better term in a summary) in the totalarian city so she's given access to all areas of the city. I was thinking of giving her some erands to the Temple (which is the mecca of all myths) and I suppose she can visit other key characters. But all those things would be minor.
Her brother is an inventor that's building something that will eventually lead to my MC being caught by the government. This invention is as important as them learning about the myths, sort of go hand in hand.
Another problem I'm having is there's a nobleman that's important for my MC to meet, but she can't meet him until AFTER she's been caught by the government. Which is making me wonder if she should be caught early on and have the story run its course then, or slow the story by giving her the "side quests" and have her get caught in the middle and make the novel longer than I anticipated. The action of the story can't really start until they meet.
In short I think that will work (and in fact you've given me several new leads to work with - thank you) but I think there's another element that might be needed as well and I'm not sure what it is.
