I made to 25,189 last night before bed! Just over halfway before the halfway mark so I'm thrilled! The story is just jumping onto the page for me now :)

You're not the only who's under 10k of words. I didn't even manage to write more than 3000 so far.

At least it's not just me!! That makes me feel a little better.

I'm writing a memoir, so it's not like I don't know how the story goes... :/

I was once told writing memoirs can be more difficult than writing something completely new, so you have my deepest respect for writing this.

I have only managed 2539 words since NaNo started. I will be very, very happy if I ever manage to get over the 5000.

I haven't been sick, I haven't been busy, I have absolutely no excuse for falling behind. And yet here I am, hoping to write 10,000 words this weekend.

I know it's possible to catch up, though, since I did it last year. I just don't want to have to write 11k in 15 hours again.

Wish I could steal your picture. It's similar to how I described the cover of the book that one of my characters is writing, except she's blond and she's in silhouette in the story.

I hit 20694 words, and that was with writing well over six thousand words today. I'm so impressed by you super achievers. I'd like to hit 30000 by the end of Monday.

I'm up to 34,274 by dint of having a horrible eldritch doom come through the front door and carry off seven of the characters. This is akin to Raymond Chandler, when stuck, of having a knock at the door turn out to be a man with a gun.

Hi. This is my first NaNoWriMo. I'm at less than 3000 words also. I'm completely ashamed. In my defense I've decided to work a lot of hours of overtime at my job because I'm going on vacation next month.

Plus everything is a distraction right now (even this community). And I seem to jump at the chance to explore each new distraction (be it video games, shopping for food, doing laundry), as a way to get out of actually writing. I should probably just stop. But the story's been swimming around in my head forever and this is the first time I'm attempting to write any of it down on paper (or on my computer screen as it were). If I could get to 10,000 by Monday I'll be a very happy dude. 15,000 would be better but baby steps, man, baby steps.

I'm hilandmum, and I topped the half-way point last night (Yay me!) I'm currently at 26430, hoping to hit 27500 by the end of today.

I thought of a whole new set of side plotlines after I finished last night. And I'm still not at the most crucial part of my story! Anyone else getting sidetracked by these? It happens to me all the time in the fanfics I write.

So breaking even and sill really enjoying my story.

I am anticipating being very behind by the end of this week as I am going away for work and then moving house when I get back but I am still hopeful I will pull it off.

32,008. I hope to either work crazy hard on the wc to maybe get to 40k, or scrap it and work on my paper and then go hard at it once I get at least half done (which is still only 1250 measly words out of the 2500 I need...)
