Ha, my novel last year was like that. I think I ended up with maybe six chapters total and barely got halfway through the book by the time I hit 50k. Whee.

30,298! I'm pretty happy with that considering my son stabbed me in the eye with his finger and I could not see AT ALL on Saturday and had to write with my eyes closed on the laptop on Sunday! Feeling better now though so here's hoping to 40 by Friday and 50 by Thanksgiving! :)

Ugh.

I didn't start until the 13th, so I'm hoping to hit 30K by the end of November. I'll try for 50K, but I'd be very happy with 30K.

Tonight I hope to hit 8k!

Maybe 50,000 isn't so impossible!!

25,032. I hit the halfway point.

I think I'm in love with everything.

And most of all - Ray Bradbury.

"If you want to write, if you want to create, you must be the most sublime fool that God ever turned out and sent rambling. You must write every single day of your life. You must read dreadful dumb books and glorious books, and let them wrestle in beautiful fights inside your head, vulgar one moment, brilliant the next. You must lurk in libraries and climb the stacks like ladders to sniff books like perfumes and wear books like hats upon your crazy heads. I wish you a wrestling match with your Creative Muse that will last a lifetime. I wish craziness and foolishness and madness upon you. May you live with hysteria, and out of it make fine stories — science fiction or otherwise. Which finally means, may you be in love every day for the next 20,000 days. And out of that love, remake a world."
- Ray Bradbury

I'm hoping that by Wednesday night I'll hit 37.5k. I'm so excited - I only 'caught up' [going by 1667 words a day] at 3am on Saturday morning and I've still got so much plot to go.

I've been lucky with some downtime at work recently...and also I have a plot sketch to follow. Mother of god does that make writing this damn novel a hell of a lot easier!

I feel like I'm slowing down, now that the end is in sight, but when I divide my word count by 17 I see that I'm still trundling along at a little over 2500 words per day. It just FEELS like I'm wading through molasses.

7473. I'd feel bad about this, but I couldn't work for a week and then just totally doubled (and then some) my word count tonight. Thank you, Write or Die!

(No idea if I'll reach the 50k mark, but I'm aiming for it, so I hope I at least get halfway there...)
