Date: 2009-10-09 02:39 pm (UTC)I do have a vague plot, or at least a bunny grazing, based on fae and old legends etc. It's a genre that's exploded recently, so I'm aware of the hopeless likelihood it'll be cliche ridden, but I can hope, right?
I'm looking forward to it in that strange "I'm about to go on a rollercoaster that's far too high and fast for me really" kind of way. I hope my daughter's understanding when it comes to a month of cheese on toast for dinner and stressed, tired and grumpy mummy.....

Date: 2009-10-09 06:09 pm (UTC)Unfortunately, I have a love-hate relationship with forums; I love to read them, but hate to keep up with the threads. xD
Good luck this year! And hey, there's nothing wrong with a Fantasy/Sci-Fi/Romance; the world could use a few, I think.

Date: 2009-10-09 04:51 pm (UTC)This will be my 5th year doing NaNo, and if all goes according to plan, my second win. My first three years, college/grad school got in the way of my ambitions, but last year I finished November with over 60k. This year I'm hoping to win again, and also *finish* the novel by the end of the month.
When I'm not noveling, I'll be working part-time at a bookstore, spending hours and hours and hours in the dance studio (I'm a professional dancer and completing a teacher training program), and doing yoga.
This year my novel will be an interesting *coughcoughblasphemouscoughcough* interpretation of the four gospels. Don't want to say too much about it yet - it's hard to talk about stuff so early in advance. Think of it as the New Testament meets Thelma and Louise.
Also, if you want to add me as a writing buddy, my NaNoWriMo screen name is OrangeTangoDoble.

Date: 2009-10-09 06:04 pm (UTC)I'm not yet sure what I want to write about this year, though I need to decide really soon. I've got three ideas bouncing around in my head, but none of them are terribly fleshed out; all of them are, I suppose, Fantasy-based. :x Decisions are hard.
When I'm not obsessing over minor details or flip-flopping between story ideas, I spend a lot of time watching Star Trek (TOS & TNG), Role-playing via journal apps or AIM, reading (Pratchett @ the moment), sleeping, and playing World of Warcraft when I can afford the monthly fee. Currently, I work part-time at Burlington Coat Factory in the Baby Depot; it's a scary place, especially as the holidays approach.
If anyone's at all interested in adding me as a Writing Buddy for this year, my ID at the NaNo site is flail, or if you be interested in bouncing ideas off of one another, you can reach me at TheAcidTwinkie via AIM or c.yuvan @ gmail.com if email is more your style. :3
Good luck and happy writing everyone! I look forward to meeting some new people and at least getting a higher word count than last year. xD!

Date: 2009-10-09 06:05 pm (UTC)This year's novel is Science Fiction (YA, apparently) and is about a teenager who discovers that she's the first known human of an alien sex/gender.
This, of course, is in the middle of school, work, and going on a trip in the first week, so I'll be also thrilled if it gets to 50,000.

Date: 2009-10-10 01:17 am (UTC)It's my policy to never think about my novel before the 15th of October, but I was on the forums doing POC-things earlier so I thought I'd introduce myself here as well.
