Hi everyone! So, I', [livejournal.com profile] andiais, and I'm a newbie. I've decided to join up for NaNoWriMo for the first time this year, and as soon as I did it I was questioning my sanity!

I do have a vague plot, or at least a bunny grazing, based on fae and old legends etc. It's a genre that's exploded recently, so I'm aware of the hopeless likelihood it'll be cliche ridden, but I can hope, right?

I'm looking forward to it in that strange "I'm about to go on a rollercoaster that's far too high and fast for me really" kind of way. I hope my daughter's understanding when it comes to a month of cheese on toast for dinner and stressed, tired and grumpy mummy.....

Hi there, I'm Heather, forums moderator for NaNo and participant since 2002. I was on the forums so much they hired me. ;) This year, I'm steaming up an old world and resurrecting an old story that I wrote a long, long time ago, but lost and can't find. So it is from scratch... just not a new idea. :) I primarily write fantasy, though I wander into sci-fi from time to time, and have discovered a rather unpleasant tendency to veer towards romance.

Maybe I can sell some to Harlequin and make millions...

You have achieved what my family has always wanted for me; getting hiring to work online just because I'm on the Internet so much.

Unfortunately, I have a love-hate relationship with forums; I love to read them, but hate to keep up with the threads. xD

Good luck this year! And hey, there's nothing wrong with a Fantasy/Sci-Fi/Romance; the world could use a few, I think.

It's the best job ever... I get paid to do what I would do anyway. LOL. In fact, the year before they hired me, I was already putting in 40 hours+ a week strictly volunteering.

Hi all, I'm Jabbel, a newbie to this. I have no idea what I'm going to write about or anything yet but I figure I'll just go with the flow I guess. Normally I only write for myself so I'm anxious to write a story! Well good luck to everyone participating!!!

Hi all -

This will be my 5th year doing NaNo, and if all goes according to plan, my second win. My first three years, college/grad school got in the way of my ambitions, but last year I finished November with over 60k. This year I'm hoping to win again, and also *finish* the novel by the end of the month.

When I'm not noveling, I'll be working part-time at a bookstore, spending hours and hours and hours in the dance studio (I'm a professional dancer and completing a teacher training program), and doing yoga.

This year my novel will be an interesting *coughcoughblasphemouscoughcough* interpretation of the four gospels. Don't want to say too much about it yet - it's hard to talk about stuff so early in advance. Think of it as the New Testament meets Thelma and Louise.

Also, if you want to add me as a writing buddy, my NaNoWriMo screen name is OrangeTangoDoble.

Hey, that sounds awesome! I'd love to add you as a writing buddy because I'm interested to see how your story unfolds. I'm thirteenthdancer over on the forums.

\o/ Hey there! I'm Loi and this will be my fourth or fifth (I skipped a year or two, so I lost count D:) time attempting NaNo, even though I have yet to ever finish. I often wonder why I still bother; it seems as though I catch a tiny bit of optimism as Fall descends, and say "This year is gonna be the year I make it!". Then I get hung up on the details and nothing gets done.

I'm not yet sure what I want to write about this year, though I need to decide really soon. I've got three ideas bouncing around in my head, but none of them are terribly fleshed out; all of them are, I suppose, Fantasy-based. :x Decisions are hard.

When I'm not obsessing over minor details or flip-flopping between story ideas, I spend a lot of time watching Star Trek (TOS & TNG), Role-playing via journal apps or AIM, reading (Pratchett @ the moment), sleeping, and playing World of Warcraft when I can afford the monthly fee. Currently, I work part-time at Burlington Coat Factory in the Baby Depot; it's a scary place, especially as the holidays approach.

If anyone's at all interested in adding me as a Writing Buddy for this year, my ID at the NaNo site is flail, or if you be interested in bouncing ideas off of one another, you can reach me at TheAcidTwinkie via AIM or c.yuvan @ gmail.com if email is more your style. :3

Good luck and happy writing everyone! I look forward to meeting some new people and at least getting a higher word count than last year. xD!

Hey, all. This is my fourth year doing NaNoWriMo, and second year doing an original novel. I've won my previous three years, and I'm aiming to do 100,000 this year.

This year's novel is Science Fiction (YA, apparently) and is about a teenager who discovers that she's the first known human of an alien sex/gender.

This, of course, is in the middle of school, work, and going on a trip in the first week, so I'll be also thrilled if it gets to 50,000.

Hi, everyone. I'm Kate. This will be my fourth NaNo, and I won my last two. My region is geographically large and a bit sparse on population, so the MLs gave the major cities Points of Contact, and that's me for my school. I'm a full-time student with a massive research paper due the week before Thanksgiving (better than after, but still...) so we'll see how that goes.

It's my policy to never think about my novel before the 15th of October, but I was on the forums doing POC-things earlier so I thought I'd introduce myself here as well.
